"Everybody knows that you live forever, when you done a line or two."  Leonard Cohen in "Everybody Knows"

And again,
I wonder how many people in this city
      live in furnished rooms.
Late at night when I look out of the buildings
I swear I see a face in every window
      looking back at me,
      and when I turn away
I wonder how many go back to their desks
      and write this down.

Leonard Cohen, (from The Spice-Box of Earth)

Apocrypha -- The definitive word in L&O fan fictioon.  I cannot say enough good things about this page, so just go there.

Fanfiction.net L&O Story Archive -- 125 stories archived so far.  Add yours to that list.

Gwenn's Fanfic Page -- Of course!  If you haven't been here, do go, as Gwenn is one of the masters of fanfic.  Also features Gypsum Moon's stories, which are of the same high quality.

Kelly Siegfried's Death to Evil Plot Bunnies -- Click on "Selected Fiction" to find "Late Night".  Why, you ask?  What better reason than to find out what it would take to make Claire snort scotch out her nose and to read an interestingly visceral description of the aftereffects.  Oh, and watch for my favourite line, "I'd say it would do more to me than all the porn in the world, Claire."  Warning:  There are no ratings posted for this story, but it is definitely an R, though not NC-17.  As if you hadn't figured that one out already from the quote.

In The Criminal Justice System -- The sequel, "Death Do Us Part",, is up!

"The best of a book is not the thought which it contains, but the thought which it suggests; just as the charm of music dwells not in the tones but in the echoes of our hearts."

Oliver Wendell Holmes

The Ham Sandwich: A “Law & Order” Ficwriters’ Guide -- Upon reading the title, I knew this would be a great page.  Okay, the real reason I knew it would be a great page is that the irrepressible Donna Fowler told me about it.  Anyhoo, it's the ultimate reference page for L&O fic, with spelling, grammar, and L&O-specific info.  Includes incredibly pertinent material on law, geography, and even biology.  Very pertinent info on biology.  I won't tell you, you'll just have to go to see.  Have fun!

The Slippery Slope -- Kyllikki's fic site, home to L&O, CI, and Crossing Jordan fanfic.  The imagery is dark and involving and well worth reading if you are in the mood for that.  (Oh, and sorry that the link didn't work before.)  Unfortunately, there should be more.  Yes, I mean that.  Kyllikki, write more right away; that's an order ;)

Beyond Boundaries: Abbie Carmichael...Claire Kincaid -- Yes, it IS what you think, and without maaking any apologies.  I've only read a bit so far, but I really enjoyed the exposition in the beginning of "Chasing Abbie" (in the Milestones Collection) about growing up knowing you are a lesbian.  Oh, and the purely naughty line, "A half hour later they were both completely clean, and slightly tired."  The main page takes a long time to load, unfortunately.

LoPagan's Fic Funhouse -- Jack and Claire as you've never seen them before.  Rated 5 Blushes.  Don't tell my mother that I told you about this place.  I know you won't.  Update: I know it's down right now, but it'll be back up eventually.  C'mon LP, up with it already!

Kitt's Law & Order Fan Fiction -- The Gilgamesh of fanfic.

Prosecutorial Discretion -- Well, I thought "Prosecutorial Indiscretion" would have been a more exciting title, but I guess it isn't my page.  Truth be known, I think the title is both interesting and highly appropriate.  Anyhoo, It's a Jack and Abbie themed page that I highly recommend. Update:  Karen recently revamped the look of this page.  Slick, Karen!  A treat for the eyes that won't take forever to load.  Of course, to see the rest of the page, you will have to scroll away from Sammy's beautiful face :(

Drakkenfyre's Bloodied Pen -- My L&O and... um... Star Trek: Voyager fanfic.  Update:  I put up one CSI fic as well as part one of a hopefully humourous guide to writing erotic fanfic.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kipling, but you just don't know how to use the English Language."

Editor of the San Francisco Examiner, informing Rudyard Kipling, who had one article published in the newspaper, that he needn't bother submitting a second, 1889

Plaid, Leather and A Flag Pin: My Exclusive Mike Logan Fan Fiction Page --

RFA -- Short fanfiction, the majority of which aare challenge answers from Gwenn's.  And all of which have strong romantic leanings.  Many L&O pairings are represented.

Law and Order: Jack and Claire Redux -- I can play with that pop-out menu for hours.  Oh, how's the story, you ask.  I love it.  Go, read, enjoy, play with the menu.  x,z,x,z,x,z,x,z,x,z,... Wheeee! Update:  Pushing x and z is just as fun as ever.

Law and Order/Homicide: Life on the Streets Fan Fiction -- I know this is replacing a dead link, but I don't have an old version of this page to tell me what I thought of it.

"Fiction writing is great, you can make up almost anything."

Ivana Trump, on finishing her first novel

universe...a site of fiction -- Yay, now it works!

Dorothy Marley's Stories -- Mostly slash, I believe.

Gaelin's World -- Undergoing a major renovation right now.

"There is not much demand for animal stories in the U.S.A."

The Dial Press, rejecting George Orwell's offer of the American rights to Animal Farm, 1944

Witness List -- Slash fic.  It's like me and Saturns -- I may not like them, but I can recommend them because they are well made (and Saturns are domestics!).

The Raised Eyebrow -- Has lots of fic links under the Jack & Claire subpage.

Fan Fiction Writer's Reference -- I am in awe!  Has links to writing references too numerous to mention.  My favourite?  The Semantic Rhyming Dictionary, which doles out, in its infinite wisdom, priceless gems such as the fact that some things do rhyme with orange, like agent orange!  Woah.

"A period novel! About the Civil War! Who needs the Civil War now -- who cares?"

Herbert R. Mayes (Editor of the Pictorial Review ), turning down a prepublication offer to serialize Margaret Mitchell's novel Gone with the Wind, 1936

Jack and Nora--Between the lines -- Formerly known as "Jack and Nora--True Love."  I don't blame them for changing the name.  *giggle*

Profaci's Bagel & Pizza Shop

The Surprise -- A slash novella.

Law and Order the Slash Years -- What can I say, more slash.
