WHO CREATED WHAT ?

Question # 2

John 1:3 - Ask them to read this verse with you, "All things came into existence through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into existence." Then ask them to read with you Colossians 1:16-17, "Because by means of Him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities.. All [other] things have been created through Him and for Him. 17. Also, He is before all [other] things and by means of Him all [other] things were made to exist." After they read this ask them to turn to the back of their bible, the page right after Revelation. There is a chart called "Table of the Books of the Bible", right after the chart there is a section titled, "You, and verbs in the plural number", after that there is a sentence that says "[] brackets enclose words inserted to complete the sense in English text." (In the 1984 version, but in the ’81 version this is in the foreword, pg.6). Ask them if they agree that the purpose in adding these bracketed words is supposed to make the meaning clearer, and not change it? Then ask them to read these verses without the bracketed word "other". Remind them that a bracketed word was not in the original language (Greek) but added. Now, going back to the matter of "creating", ask them if this is correct; that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that GOD created Jesus first and then Jesus created everything else? They should answer yes, and they will probably want to go to Revelation 3:14, but stay with this verse. If they sat yes, then agree that according to these two verses, John 1:3 and Col. 1:16-17, that this is what is being said here. Then have them read Isaiah 44:24 "…I, Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the Heavens by myself, laying out the earth. Who was with me?" Then go to Genesis 1:26 "And GOD went on to say: Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness,…" Ask, according to this verse, "Let us make" indicates more than one in the creating process wouldn’t you agree? Now look at verse 27, "And GOD proceeded to create the man in his image, in GOD’s image he created him; male and female he created them." Ask, now GOD is said to be doing the creating Himself, why doesn’t GOD say here that everything was created through Jesus? Doesn’t it make sense that if they are one and the same that no clarification is needed, as to who created what.
