9. Parent & Teacher Resources

These sites feature resources, other than lesson plans, of benefit to teachers and/or parents, particularly those parents involved with homeschooling.  They are organized  as follows:

9.1 Back to School - information for both teacher and parents.

9.2 Teacher Resources - information primarily for teachers, and homeschooling parents.

    9.2.1 General Topics - anything not fitting into the more specific categories below.

    9.2.2 WebQuest/ThinkQuest - Prepared - a vast selection of WebQuests, ThinkQuests, and ThinkQuests, Jr.  These Quests are self-paced, student-directed online learning activities, and are excellent tools for learning.  The variety of topics covered is staggering, and is increasing daily.

    9.2.3 WebQuest/ThinkQuest - Theory - learn to design and implement your own WebQuests

    9.2.4 Free Class/Teacher Web Pages 

        9.2.4.1 Web Page Information - the how and why of creating a personal or class web site.

        9.2.4.2 Graphics - a selection of graphics particularly useful to educators.

        9.2.4.3 Free Site Services - listing of free services for creating and hosting personal or class web sites, including many that require no knowledge of HTML or web design.

    9.2.5 Reference Bookshelf - a wealth of online general and technical references of use to teachers and parents.

     9.2.6 Classroom Management - numerous sites providing discipline, management and organization information.

     9.2.7 Character Education - sites with  lesson plans and units dealing with character education, values and ethics.

     9.2.8 Rubrics - links to sites addressing how to design and use rubrics for assessment across the curriculum, including numerous sites which offer ready made rubrics which you can download, use and/or modify to fit your specific needs.

    9.2.9 Brain-Based Learning/Learning Theories - sites relating to Brain-based Learning theory and practice, and those dealing with Learning Theories and Learning Styles.

    9.2.10 Bulletin Boards - a collection of sites filled with bulletin board ideas for all grades and all seasons

    9.2.11 Free Certificates, Fonts, and Worksheets - sites offering free Worksheets and free downloadable fonts for educators.

    9.2.12 Graphic Organizers - a collection of sites describing various graphic organizers, many of which are downloadable.

9.3 Parent Resources - information primarily for parents.  Teachers may find links here that they would like to recommend to parents of their students.

9.4 Commercial Educational Sites - These are commercial sites related to education products or services.  Many of them offer free samples or useful excerpts of their product.  Included are sites which I feel are extremely useful.  I have no affiliation with any of the sites, and I limit them to those I consider to offer an exceptionally useful product.
