William Overstreet

Father: George Overstreet (1800-1835)

Mother: Nancy McCarley (1804-1868)

The 1830 Jessamine Co. Census indicates two more sons than I could identify. By 1840 there is just one left. In 1850, they are both gone.

I thought I would never find names for them, but I do have one. When their grandfather, Moses McCarley died, he left things to some of the grandchildren but not all. In 1845 there was a court petition to sell 39 1/2 acres of land to pay 11 grandchildren.

It is obvious that the children are named in order of their ages. This is where I found William and some dates for him.

The other son remains a mystery and probably always will be.
