Haiku Of Reflection

Crib death was questioned
They say she drank all the time.
...Cruelty of neighbours

Circus tragedy
Elephnts chained, tigers whipped
...Clowns grin it away.

Depression came fast
Took the woman's breath away.
Car runs in garage.

Executive suite
Trashed by cocaine-infused folk.
....Land of Yuppidom.

Slackers fine by me.
Protestant work ethic a joke.
Without a punchline.

Heaven's Gate is closed.
No admittance, no popcorn.
....Media show done.

Cracked up and flying.
Plasic pipes weilded like swords.
Cut deep and lethal.

Addiction's like gold
Chased with desperate longing.
...Jeweled locket of Meth.

Parent shirk duties.
Children run like pack of wolves.
....Baying for love denied.

"Let Me In", cried Stipe.
Kurt wouldn't open the door.
Died alone, bereft.

Flannel shirts and grief.
Seattle weathers lots of rain.
....Prozac capital.

Apathy's balm.
Wraps one's conscience in denial.
....Suffering goes on.

Paint mind of canvas.
Swirling circles, flashing suns.
...You own it for life.

I hand you the pills.
My heart hangs heavy in my chest.
....Helping Mom to die.

My anger's a storm.
It tears roofs from loved one's homes.
...Leaves them all exposed.

These haiku poems cover everything from drug abuse, to depression, to euthenasia to blinding rage. We think about things like this when we are esconsed in our paralyzying depressions. Tnis is the inner workings of a borderline mind, and today it is not sunny or bright.
