MALAYSIAN FLAG

Malaysia is a member of the Commonwealth Nations. The country is divided into 2 regions : West Malaysia - which is located in south of Thailand and north of Singapore. East Malaysia - including Sabah and Sarawak, which are located in the northern portion of Borneo Island.

It has a land area of 329,758 sq km (127,320 sq miles). The largest city as well as the capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia's weather is hot and humid throughout the year. Average daily temperature vary from 21° to 32° C.

Malaysia is actually a multi-racial country which comprises of Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races. As a result of this, Malaysia has a unique blend of age-old customs and traditions, colourful festivals, gay songs and dances and a rich variety of foods.

The economy of Malaysia was once based principally on the production of raw materials for export, including petroleum, rubber, tin and timber is now moving toward the manufacturing sectors that of growing importance to strengthen the country's economy. Therefore, Malaysia is no longer depended on the raw materials as the primary source of revenue.

Recently, Malaysia has attained a Developing Country status and it has boosted the confidence and the desire of the nation to strive for a fully Developed Country by the year 2020. This is a vision which was set by our Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohammad. Therefore, Malaysia is undergoing massive economic development and the recently proposed Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) is one of the major project to show the eagerness of the government in gearing the country toward achieving the Vision 2020.
