        HYMN TO DARWIN
        by Jerry Phillips

        Damned to Hell and persecution,
        He who credits evolution!
'Least that's what Creationists tell us,
        In good faith. These over-zealous,
        Pious, wholly-dedicated,
        Would have Truth eradicated
From the earth; for they are blinded,
        Bigoted, and narrow-minded;

Shunning truth, for truth is liable
        If it contradicts their Bible's
        Literal interpretation
        And the promise of Salvation
        For their kind--excluding others.
They are Saved, but not their brothers!
        Tolerant of none, they chastise,
Judge, condemn, and all through closed eyes.

Certain, they, in all they know of
Man and God. They think they know love.
Walking in the light of darkness,
Going forth to make their mark, (Lest
        Knowledge, Reason, Truth, Compassion,
        Should someday become the fashion)
        Shouting "Doom" forevermore, they
Know not what they're doing--for they

Only prove by their Crusade, that
Man is of a Monkey made!
        Amen.
