ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ ΒΑΣΣΑΡΕΩΣ ΤΡΙΕΤΗΡΙΚΟΥ

Dionysos Bassareos Trieterikos

Ελθέ, μάκαρ Διόνυσε, πυρίσπορε, ταυρομέτωπε,

(El-theh, mah-kar Dee-oh-nee-seh, pee-ree-spoh-reh, tav-roh-meh-toh-peh)

Come, o blessed Dionysos, who was dissolved in fire and who has the forehead of the Bull,

Βάσσαρε καί Βακχεύ, πολυώνυμε,

(Vas-sah-reh keh Vak-heh-v, poh-lee-oh-nee-meh)

Bassare and Bakchea, with the many names,

πανταδυνάστα, ός ξίφεσιν χαίρεις, ήδ' αίματι, Μαινάσι θ' αγναίς.

(pan-tah-dee-nah-stah, os ksee-feh-seen heh-rees, ee-deh-mah-tee, Meh-nah-see thag-nes)

Almighty, who is pleased by the Sword and Blood and with Maenads pure.

Ευάζων κατ' όλυμπον, ερίβρομε, μαινόλα Βάκχε,

(Ev-ah-zon kah-toh-leem-pon, eh-ree-vroh-meh, meh-noh-lah Vak-heh)

Thee who shouts upon mount Olympus, the loud one, the maniacal Bakchos,

θυρσεγχής, βαρύμηνι, τετιμένε πάσιν θεοίσιν

(theer-seg-hees, vah-ree-mee-nee, teh-tee-meh-neh pah-seen theh-ee-seen)

Whose lance is the Thyrsus, the furious, blessed of all the gods,

καί θνητοίσι βροτοίσιν, όσοι χθόνα ναιετάουσιν.

(keh thnee-tee-see vroh-tee-seen, oh-see chthoh-nah neh-eh-tah-oo-seen)

And amongst all mortal man, all who dwell upon earth.

Ελθέ, μάκαρ, σκιρτητά, φέρων πολύ γύθος άπασιν.

(eh-theh, mah-kar, skeer-tee-tah, feh-roh-n poh-lee gee-thos ah-pah-seen)

Come, blessed, leaper, and bring great joy to all.
