ΠΡΩΤΟΓΟΝΟΥ

To the Protogonos

Πρωτόγονον καλέω διφή, μέγαν, αιθερόπλαγκτον,

(pro-toh-goh-non kah-leh-oh dee-fee, meh-gah-n, eh-theh-roh-flah-ktoh-n)

I summon Thee Protogonos, the double-formed, the great wanderer of the Aethyr,

ωογενή, χρυσέησιν αγαλλόμενον πτερύγεσσιν,

(oh-oh-geh-nee, hree-seh-ee-seen ah-gah-loh-meh-non pteh-ree-geh-seen)

Egg borned, with joyful golden wings,

ταυρωπόν, γένεσιν μακάρων θνητών τ' ανθρώπων

(tah-vroh-pon, geh-neh-seen mah-kah-roh-n thnee-toh-n tan-throh-poh-n)

He with the face of a Bull, and who gave birth to the blessed gods and mortal man,

σπέρμα πολύμνηστον, πολυόργιον,

(spehr-mah poh-lee-mnee-stohn, poh-lee-or-gee-on)

Thou who art the seed much desired and who is celebrated with many rituals

Ηρικεπαίον, άρρητον, κρύφιον, ροιζήτορα, πανμφαές έρνος,

(Ee-ree-keh-peh-on, ah-ree-tohn, kree-fee-ohn, ree-zee-toh-rah, pam-fah-es ehr-nohs)

Ericapaeos, Mysterious, Occultic, Vehement, All-shining Child,

όσσων ός σκοτόεσσαν απημαύρωσας ομίχλην

(os-sohn os skoh-toh-es-sahn ah-pee-mav-roh-sas oh-mee-hleen)

Thou who takes away the dark fog from our eyes

πάντη δινηθείς πτερύγων ριπαίς κατά κόσμον

(pan-tee dee-nee-thees pteh-ree-gon ree-peh-s kah-tah kohs-mon)

With the shinning splendour from your impetuously moving wings,

λαμπρόν άγων φάος αγνόν, αφ' ού σέ,

(lam-proh-n ah-goh-n fah-os ah-gnoh-n, ah-foo seh)

Your shinning spledour engulfs the World and You bring the Pure Brilliant Light,

Φάνητα κικλήσκω, ηδέ Πρίηπον άνακτα,

(fah-nee-tah kee-klees-koh, ee-deh Pree-eep-on ah-nak-tah)

You are called Phanes and Priapos King,

καί Ανταύγην ελίκωπον.

(keh An-tav-geen eh-lee-koh-pon)

And Brilliant Sharp Eyed.

Αλλά, μάκαρ πολύμητι, πολύσπορε

(al-lah, mah-kar poh-lee-mee-tee, poh-lee-spoh-reh)

But Thou art the Blessed, the Artful, the Fertile,

βαίνε γεγηθώς ές τελετήν αγίην πολυποίκιλον οργιοφάνταις

(veh-neh geh-gee-thohs es teh-leh-teen ah-gee-een poh-lee-pee-kee-lon or-gee-oh-fan-tes)

Who goes forth gladly to the Holy Manifold Rites that are performed by those who show their Knowledge of the Mysterious Rites.
