ΑΣΤΡΟΝ

To the Stars

Fumigation: Various Perfumes

Αστρων ουρανίων ιερόν σέλας εκπροκαλούμαι,

(As-trohn oo-rah-nee-on ee-eh-ron seh-las ek-proh-keh-loo-meh)

The Sacred Light of the Celestial Stars I invoke,

ευιέροις γωνήσι κικλήσκων δαίμονας αγνούς.

(ev-ee-eh-rees goh-nee-see kee-klees-kohn deh-moh-nas ag-noos)

And with holy voice I direct this summons to those Daemons Pure.

Αστέρες ουράνιοι, Νυκτός φίλα τέκνα μελαίνης,

(As-teh-reh-s oo-rah-nee-ee, neek-toh-s fee-lah tek-nah meh-leh-nees)

celestial stars, beloved children of darkest Nyx,

εγκυκλίοις δίνησι περιθρόνιοι κυκλέοντες

(eh-gee-klee-ees dee-nee-see peh-ree-throh-nee-ee kee-kleh-on-tehs)

You whirl in circular motion round the Throne,

ανταυγείς, πυρόεντες, αεί γενετήρες απάντων

(an-tav-gees, pee-roh-en-tes, ah-ee geh-neh-tee-res ah-pan-tohn)

Sparkling, fiery, who art the eternal parents of all:

μοιρίδιοι, πάσης μοίρης σημάντορες όντες

(mee-ree-dee-ee, pah-sees mee-rees see-man-toh-res on-tes)

Who art destiny, Who art the Daemons of every destiny,

θνητών ανθρώπων θείην διέποντες αταρπόν

(thnee-toh-n an-throh-pohn thee-een dee-eh-pon-tes ah-tar-pon)

Thee who determines mortal man's divine path:

επταφαείς ζώνας εφορώμενοι, ηερόπλαγκτοι

(ep-tah-fah-ees zoh-nas eh-foh-roh-meh-nee, ee-eh-roh-plag-tee)

Ye who appear in the seven bright zones and wandering through the air:

ουράνιοι, χθόνιοι τε, πυρίδρομοι, ατειρείς

(oo-rah-nee-ee, chthoh-nee-ee teh, pee-ree-droh-mee, ah-tee-rees)

Celestial and terrestrial, who have a fiery course, always invincible,

αυγάζοντες αεί νυκτός ζοφοειδέα πέπλον,

(av-gah-zohn-tehs ah-ee neek-tohs zoh-foh-ee-deh-ah peh-plohn)

and always illuminating the dark veiled night,

μαρμαρυγαίς στίλβοντες, εύφρονες, εννύχιοί τε,

(mar-mah-ree-ges steel-von-tes, ev-froh-nes, eh-nee-hee-ee teh)

And always with shinning rays and who art full of joy, Even unto the night:

έλθετ' επ' ευιέρου τελετής πολυίστορας άθλους,

(el-theh-teh-peh-vee-eh-roo teh-leh-tees poh-lee-ees-toh-ras ath-loos)

Come upon much suffering workers of the Sacred Rites,

εσθλοί επ' ευδόξοις έργοις δρόμον εκτελέοντες.

(es-thlee eh-pev-doh-ksees ehr-gees droh-mon ek-teh-leh-on-tehs)

bringing from afar a good course towards glorious works.
