ISLAMIC MONITOR

The rising influence of Islam in America will be the greatest threat to our rights to freedom of speech and religion. Moslem pressure groups are seeking to limit how we may read, talk, and write about Islam, its adherents, the Prophet, and the Koran.

The Koran and the example of the Prophet (as given in the Hadith) reveal that Islam advocates permanent struggle or jihad against non-Muslims - or least until non-Muslims are converted, subjugated to Islamic authority, or killed. The terrorists demonstrate a more honest understanding of Islam than Moslem apologists and fellow travelers.

It may be that many Muslims abhor violence, are tolerant of practice of other religions, etc, and are truly ignorant about what the Koran teaches. It is a tribute to their enculturation from teachers, parents, and others that they learn decency - the credit is not due to the Koran or the Prophet. We need to nudge them into the realization that their personal beliefs and their professed faith are incompatible.

Then there are the "liberal" and "moderate" Muslims whom we may know at school or work. These are the people who will tell us that terrorism and religious persecution are incompatible with Islam. They are more interested in justifying Islam to their non-Moslem colleagues than in persuading their more violent brethren that their actions are incompatible with Islam. Perhaps they realize that Islam provides more support to the ideology of their violent brethren than it does to their more moderate views.

Others (namely, Moslem pressure groups) know full well what the Koran teaches, but are deliberately misleading non-Muslims about Islam through appeals to justice, respect, and fair play - values that transcend Islam, but not contained in the Koran. Those people we must expose. Finally, we must persuade civil libertarians and other groups that alliances with Moslem groups are ultimately suicidal.

Below are links to understand Islam and moreover, how it operates in the West. Islamic Monitor is a place to exchange information about challenging benign portrayal of Islam in the media, schools, and religious forums.
