        let's make a difference

Man has appointed himself God's creation of the highest intellect and with this comes
the responsibility of guardianship of all of His other creations. Over time man has
proven himself to be the greatest enemy of the earth.

The ocean belongs neither to you nor I…but we tend to take its vastness for granted.
The oceans are one of the earth's most significant resources. The global ocean affects
the health and safety of the world by providing food, recreation, local weather
        amelioration, and global climate stabilization.

Waste Dumping By its size and extent, the ocean can't rely on just one or two political entities to preserve its health. Waters originating from the shores of the US or Ireland wash the shores of India or Singapore. Ships from countries as far away as Japan fish the Atlantic Ocean currents. How we treat the ocean today will affect our quality of life in the next century. And for my two cents worth here…I don't think we've been doing a good job! Direct discharges of wastes through outfalls, dumping, shoreline modification, and habitat destruction all affect the coastal ocean and eventually the global ocean.

Nuclear Waste Dumping 70 percent of the surface of the Earth is covered by water, yet we still have so much to discover about this vast resource. We've traveled to other planets successfully. Hooray!…we might cheer…BUT… some of the greatest mysteries still lie beneath our very own oceans. The ocean affects us daily, from putting food on our table to supplying us from its bounty - natural resources, recreation and transportation. The ocean is a major source of our lives!

Slaugthered Whale The ocean isn't our wastebin. Often through sheer carelessness, we see oil spills that cause irreparable devastation to marine life and birds. Haven't we seen enough of the struggle of our feathered friends in hopeless helplessness with the weight of oil on them and haven't we seen enough of the hundreds of dead fishes floating in the ocean? The beauty of the peaceful and rich blue waters has once too often turned into graveyards of birds and fishes.
