        "Good evening.
         Rhythm is all around you and in you.  It is in your 
	breathing, the way you blink your eyes, the way you move your body.  Your heart is the 
	rhythm of life.
         As you read, there is a rhythm and as you manage the 
	keys to your control board there is a rhythm.  There are rhythms in life that are evident 
	and we do not intend to go into all of them here.  What we would like to talk about is 
	the rhythm of being.
         The speed of your life depends on the management of 
	the rhythm within.  We all have heard 'I can't get going today.'  Or the opposite 'I got 
	so much done today.'  There are biorhythmic curves in feelings and moods and chemical 
	changes in the body.
         The earth pulsates with rhythm and the seasons have 
	a special signature rhythm to them.  You are in a capsule of rhythm in one sense.   You 
	change your location or go on vacation to tune yourself to a different rhythm.  You also 
	can change your rhythm by your breathing, by meditation, and by quiet, peaceful times.  
	Something you enjoy doing can change the rhythm of your being.  It can alleviate stress.  
	Too often we see you scurrying around from task to task and yet there is no break or 
	planned time for the rhythm that brings peace.
         As you calm yourself in whatever way is best for 
	you, you will find that though there is a quietness, there is also an increased sense of 
	rhythm.  It is a shifting, an opening which allows for a different type of rhythm to be 
	experienced.   Some can handle this and some cannot.   The awareness of it is important 
	and the calm atmosphere can change a rhythm that is not readily apparent.
         And what is the purpose?  Why change?  Perhaps you 
	are a fast moving, very driven, goal oriented person.  Or perhaps you are a quieter, 
	slower moving individual.  Why should you change your basic rhythm signature?  Because it 
	is a type of balancing.   It is the 'other side of the coin.'  And knowing the two sides 
	and experiencing them, one can find a better combination of energies.  This is not to say 
	that one will change what is the most comfortable mode of being.  It will, however, 
	expand awareness of energies and allow a wider range of energy fields to be experienced."
