"To intuit is to understand without obvious signs or signals. This particular aspect of the personality is born with the person, but can be developed and increased with patience and time. If we look too much for solutions in the materialistic, concrete world, then we will have little chance to develop intuition. Also, the development of intuition must come with the ability to hear or sense. This hearing is not of the ears, but hearing in the mind. It can also be a sensing with the body and the senses alerting the individual to some kind of danger or problem.

Intuition is extremely helpful in conversing with people who are not all they show. Some are 'hiding', and some are shy. Being able to sense where the other person is in their feelings and thoughts and emotions is an aid that helps them and ultimately helps the person intuiting. There are so many situations in each day and night that allows for this practice, yet many don't use or trust it. Why is that? Mainly because there are so many who use the conscious mind, the eyes, and the ears in such a way that they limit what they see and understand. Of course some will always be more intuitive than others, yet if we take whatever ability we have and work and learn from it, the ability will grow. It is like fine tuning a musical instrument. This intuition has saved many a life, especially in the area of warning, and in times of war, the ability improves because one's life depends on it.

When you look at things and when you are not necessarily communicating, notice the aspect of your mind. Then compare that aspect when you are talking with others or communicating in some way with animals. What is the difference? Your mind works much quicker and you are using your conscious mind more than the subconscious mind. To develop intuition you must have some space in your thought. If you are consciously thinking, you cannot develop this skill as well as you might. It is good to practice slowing down the thoughts and allowing some space, like a pause, that will allow you to be aware of what your body senses and what your emotions are telling you. As you become more aware of your feelings, it is good to become more aware of other's feelings. This way you develop into a more compassionate person with more understanding. It is the use of this skill that increases your awareness and sensitivity. That sensitivity developed is an added help in your spiritual growth. Try it slowly. To expect a sudden change will not work. Begin to listen to it and see if you can increase this skill to the point where it is a part of your daily beingness in the world."
