"Weather is always with us, night and day, in such a way that we usually take it for granted. It is when there is a change in the weather, or extremes that we focus our attention on the latest news and the next developing pattern. Why should we talk about weather when very little can be done about it? It is because it is a good focal point for change and adjustment. If we are in an environment we like, then we tend to flow with the patterns that come with that area. If we are in an environment that we dislike, then the patterns become an agitation.
Chemical reactions in the body do cause some to be more sensitive to the weather than others. Usually, those individuals figure the influence and try to work with it to make themselves more comfortable. We can have our moods influenced in a very negative way when the temperature soars and hot weather surrounds us like a heavy blanket. We know the things to do to adjust the body, whether it is drinking lots of water or bundling up, but little time is spent on the adjustment of the mind.
When we find ourselves in unusual patterns, we must pull on inner strength to deal with it. Whether they are floods, or earthquakes, or fires, or various natural disasters, we are forced to adjust. Some do adjust, and some don't. Of course if these patterns affect our survival or our home and surroundings, then we jump into high gear to do what we must do.
As we have spoken of before, inner balance is important, being able to be aware of the environment within when the cold gets too cold or the hot gets too hot. It is like taking a mental health break - sometimes a few minutes of just stopping and even trying to adjust will help change the reaction outwardly.
What it comes down to is that while we are affected greatly by our environment, we must always hold on to the environment that only we can change. That is the inner environment where the weather cannot touch us. This may seem a "stretch" to many who say how can that help when you're burning up, but small breaks can help the mind and the mood. Next time the weather begins to disturb you, take a little break and visit your inner environment and see what is going on there."
