Purple and Gold

"How many times do you see information on color? Not much, in fact, unless you are an art student or perhaps in clothes or home designs, there is little reason you would research color. Color is all around us, above us, and below us. Each shade and intensity has its own coding and its own frequency, its own intensity. We have pastels and the softness which comforts, yet some people find them bland. They want something 'livelier' and feel too muted when wearing pastels.

Two colors of high intensity are purple and gold. Purple is of royal use and has been incorporated into rituals in churches. It is a rich, deep color which can be acceptable to some people, but elicits a strong negative reaction in others. Purple is of such intensity that though the softer lavendar can be more tolerated, a deep strong purple is too strong for people to wear. It is not a color that is found in homes to the extent that it is a main color scheme, yet it would be effective to bring purple into your life in some way for its experience. If you look around you, you will find that it is not a color that one finds easily. Perhaps this again associates it with royalty and its lack of common use. Yet, in flowers we can find the deep colors and somehow they are more harmonious to the eye. Purple can be added to one's experience in small doses. It is a supportive, strengthening color with much hidden intensity.

Gold is, of course, more often used for its richness and beauty. The color is associated with beauty in jewels and used in homes to lighten and in art to enrich. It, too, is not often worn in large amounts as it is also too strong for most. Gold is a color that can be looked at, but must be introduced to the mind and body in small ways. Too much gold can be overwhelming. When most people think of gold, they immediately think of the metal, but here we are speaking of the color and its intensity. Each of these two colors has strength, each has its own individuality. Gold is often seen in sunrises and sunsets - a ray of light to lighten the spirit. Notice where there is the color gold other than jewels. Notice its effect on you. Compare the two colors - gold and purple. Though you may not be too interested in color and wonder what reason you should involve yourself in its study, you may find that there is a subtle effect on the body which can enrich in new ways. We take for granted what we can see, but if you look more closely, if you feel more openly, you may find that there is richness there beyond what is visible to the eye. Training the eye leads to inner vision."
