A House

"Suppose you were to build a house and you had the tools and skill to build it, how would you begin? Would you research existing houses, look to the past for ideas, or create something different? How would you put your individual stamp on the house, your logo, so to speak, your personality? How would you blend your ideas with another if the house represented two or more? What would it represent? Would size enter into it or would a cozier type home fit you more? We could go on and on with questions which would represent the type of house you could build - not only the design would have to be considered but color and furnishings and style. When you think of it, so many things to create that which would be your house. Suppose you didn't want a house? Suppose you wanted only an apartment or something which would take less time to care for, or perhaps a house on the road so you could see more of the world. So many ideas for houses and so many considerations including the environment and temperature of the location.

How about the house you live in? Your physical body is your 'house'. Although you are intertwined with it as one, you are not just your body, but the spirit within is the builder. We come with plans which have been formulated in the womb and we begin to construct our house the rest of our lives. Some take great care, some take very little care, and some don't care at all about the homes they live in. Too often it is taken for granted until something goes wrong and then we wake up and take notice. The house we reside in should be able to function in its best way for it is the outer expression of the inner. How we eat and how we think and how we live makes the building plans for our house. The plans are always changing for we change within, we grow, we become the player on the stage of the different seasons of life. Too often, we get so caught up in life, we forget we are life. We are living, creating, becoming, developing, and establishing for others to see what we view as our house.

These houses have been called temples. Temples are regarded as the place for the sacred and so our 'houses' are the home of that which is sacred, the spirit within. It is wise to not only consider one's health, but to consider the duet that is played between the spirit and the body. It should be one of harmony, one that 'sings' a good tune, a house that shows care and maintenance. Be at peace within your house."
