As channeled by Marcia Wilson

Earth is a busy place. People are busy each day, running and rushing and going from place to place. Sometimes it seems
as if it's a blur. Each individual who has a plan for the day knows where to go, what to do, and proceeds in a day to day
fashion. Others who have a looser format can do more as they please. This is obvious, you may say, and that is true, but
sometimes obvious things are missed.
One of the obvious things that is frequently missed is the need for rest. The need for sleep is well known.
The results of not sleeping are well known, yet there is a need for rest as well as sleep. Of course the first thing that
will be said is that there isn't time. There is no time in the day for rest and it is true that people go non stop. Still,
there is the need and if the need is not met in some way, then the body rebels, the mind rebels, and often the system
begins to shut down.
How to get rest when there is no resting time has been mentioned before. One must take tiny breaks, stop, take a
breath, close your eyes, rest a moment. Give your body a chance to breathe. How often is the mind given a rest?
Surrounding most people is constant stimulation by sound. We get uneasy and restless if things are too quiet or too still.
It just doesn't seem natural. "Be still and know that I am God". How many have heard this wisdom or have followed its
direction? In silence there is much wisdom and in silence there is rest. Without the silence, the rest is not the same,
but some rest is better than no rest. You do not have to prove yourself all the time. Occupations require much attention,
but either during or after the day or night's occupation, rest is a kind thing to do for your body and your mind.
You may find that your spirit responds more when your body and mind are rested. Listen to the spirit within.
