"Jungle of Ideas

ANDREW

Concrete things, objects are easy to see, but perhaps not easy to perceive. A building may be observed but the measure of it might be deceptive in its appearance. Difficult to perceive is the essence of spirituality. There are so many avenues and paths, so many beliefs, so many contradictions that it is easy to get lost in the jungle of ideas. To go into the jungle of ideas is sometimes as confusing as a web of tangled knots. How then do we clear this morass of beliefs? It is not easy because there are such extremes in core beliefs. No matter your religious beliefs or training, it is a step toward clearing to realize or think about what each belief has in common. Most people concentrate on the differences which leads to disconnection. We hang on to the differences as if each is personalized, never to be linked with another. Instead, find the common thread or idea, find the main thought or belief that can be considered. It does not mean giving up one's belief, but perhaps it will help to reach out to others of different beliefs if we recognize the similarities. If there is none, at least to your eyes, see the intent or focus behind the belief. In that, there may be a thin line or connection. It does not mean joining or giving up, but reaching out in thought and spirit.
