The tone of a bell varies in shape and sound. We know this and it is played in many ways. A bell's sound can be soft and tinkling or it can boom out like a drum. Why should the obvious be stated? Behind most things are symbols. A bell must have something to connect with to be able to sound its 'voice'. This connection brings forth the melody that is part of the bell's identity. Just as a bell must be connected to sound, we, too, must be connected to have our own 'sound' identity. We can be off key or we can be clear, but the connection must be made to bring it forth. That connection is linked with spirit. When the spirit resonates with the mind and the heart of a person, the sound is more melodic than if it is the shape but not the sound.
