"My class made fake rockets. I thought
I would beat P__ in the race. When I got my balloon ready, I tried it.
I lost. My balloon went straight down.
P__ won the race. His rocket flew across
the room! I figured out why I lost...I accidentally let go of the string
and my rocket went down."
"First, I put a straw on a string (fishing
line) that was tied up high ... to the top of the window blinds. I then
blew up a balloon, but I did not tie it! Then I taped the balloon, with
the part where you blow up facing me, to the straw. Then I had to tape the
plastic table tennis ball to the tip of the front part of the balloon.
Blast off!
Pull the string tight and then let go
of the balloon. The air in the balloon will then come out and make the balloon
shoot to the top of the string. When the air in the balloon burst out,
it pushed the straw up with the balloon still taped on. And it hit the top
of the string!"
"I built a rocket made out of a table tennis ball, straw, balloon, and fishing line. It looked like this:
My ball did not go very far...only about half way down the string. Everybody laughed at me. I laughed at my ownself.
I think I may have had my table tennis ball too much under the balloon like this:
Well, I am planning on trying it again!"
