I thought your website a hit, a very palpable hit! I wish I knew the first version of Hamlet I saw. I know only that I was about 10 years old, it was on television, and the final scene left me feeling too morose and wondering why anyone could like this Shakespeare guy! As it happens, I took an acting course in my first year of university. Our first assignment was to learn and recite Hamlet's "Speak the speech, I pray you" lines. I think there are 47. Ughh. I was never so daunted, but persevered, finished the thing, d livered my lines without banging into any furniture, and began to appreciate and admire the real beauty of Shakespeare's (whoever he or she is . . .) language. I continued to learn various passages from many other plays as a result of this exercise, often repeating them in my mind as I began to take up long dutance running. Though I've never been able (or wanted) to impress folks at cocktail parties, I did once in free tickets to a play for knowing the ending to the couplet "The play's the thing . . ." on CBC radio one day two years ago! There, no foul language or licentious wickedness. Go, make you ready. Happy New Year. Regards, Robert Skoye

Hi world! Robbie here, from South-East UK. I adore both "Hamlet" and Ken. I almost think Will wrote the play with him in mind! I used to live in Stratford so I've soaked up loads of atmosphere. Hey, I love getting emails so get writing!

Hullo, humble hamster. I was greedily gulping mass quantities of CL info when I cam across your site and took a (small) look at it. I hope you don't mind. The look won't be missed: as I said, 'twas a small thing, although the page gazed upon was in no way miniscule in its design or content.

I love this site, came here often while we were reading Hamlet during senior year in high school. Until I read Hamlet, I thought that plays were trite and useless... I read Hamlet and fell in love with it. We watched the Branagh Hamlet and the Zepherelli amlet. By far, I loved the Branagh one much more, and he's not too shabby looking either!!

This site seems really complete! I loved the movie and I have to say that if it is released on DVD, even though it will be a small image, because it was shot in 70 mm format, I think it should be in "Widescreen" It was beautiful to watch it in the Paris t eater in NEw York. I was actually hoping that there would be a screen saver that I could download. Well, best of look to you. And eys I do know the next three lines of the "To be or not to be" speech. I know the next 32 in fact. I learned it for fun. That s how much I lvoe the play. Well,it was nice visiting th site. Bye.

I saw Kenneth Branagh interviewed at the NFT in London recently. the whole time I was just thinking "Wow, he is there not more than 10 ft away sitting in the same room as me!" I was absolutley thrilled, and we saw a preview of his next Shakespearean project Love's Labour's Lost, a musical, looks like it will be interesting. After that he said he was going to tackle Macbeth "The Scotti

Well, I know I'm not a magazine author, but I'd like to give my opinion of "Hamlet", directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh. It is absolutely the greatest performance of Shakespeare I have ever seen in my entire life. I enjoyed every second, and it wa so thrilling to watch Shakespeare's words come alive, especially out of the lips of Kenneth! It is absolutely magnificant, and anyone who DOESN'T like it needs to visit a psychologist because some one dropped you as a baby and killed all your common sen e! It's a fabulous play! By the way, I loved your page. Thanks for the information.
