We are called to grow spiritually and encourage the spiritual growth of others. The higher power I mentioned is a spirit within, between, and among us. People have named the spirit God. I believe He/She is a mysterious and loving presence interested in our daily lives and spiritual growth, and desires to be a close companion. Those who continually reach out to God typically live joyous, fun, relaxing, loving, exciting, peaceful, and challenging lives.
Throughout history, people have traveled many paths to God and a spiritually healthy lifestyle. The path I am most familiar with is named Christianity, but I believe if someone is on a path of a different name, or on a path so untraditional it doesn't have a name, it does not mean they are lost or condemned to failure. A wise person named Basho once said, "Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought." Different people find different paths to discover the same God.
