Your Sins CAN be FORGIVEN Today

I don't know who you are reading this message, and I may never know. We may never meet, yet I am concerned about you. You see, millions of people across the world have never heard of the GOOD NEWS that can CHANGE YOUR LIFE TODAY, and for ALL ETERNITY.

This isn't a new message from some therapy group telling you how to feel better about yourself. It's not a new teaching on how to justify your actions to yourself, no matter how much something inside of you screams "IT'S WRONG!".

This GOOD NEWS is old news!. Because it was promised right at the beginning of human history. It came in the form of a prophecy from God to our ancestors, our first parents Adam and Eve. They sinned against God by disobedience to a simple commandment God gave them. God's Word the Bible says there can not be sin in the presence of our Holy God, it causes a separation between Him and us.

Though God was angry with their sin He still made them clothes, gave them all that they could need to make a living. Best of all though He gave them a promise of SALVATION. He promised them the Messiah, Jesus Christ. He would be born of a woman (that means He wouldn't have need for a natural human father, born of a virgin), and He would crush the head of satan (who tempts us to sin and tries to mislead us away from God).

God's intention has always been that we have a one to one friendship with Him, not a man-made religion of mindless rules and regulations. We can make the choice to return to Him of our own free will, out of our love for Him. How?

Jesus Christ would make that way. Jesus Christ the Eternal Son of God, in very nature God the Bible tells us HE DIED FOR US, that is you and me. He was born of a virgin as was promised, and He never sinned, ever!. Yet He took all our sins on Himself when He died for us.

Just think of it, nearly 2000 years ago the most gentlest, kindest healer endured a night of whipping, beatings, mockery , being spat upon and then endured public humiliation by having nails driven through His wrists and feet. He hung on the cross for hours, all that time, YOU were on His mind.

"What?! that's ridiculous!," you may say "How could He have even known about you or me then, nearly 2000 years ago?". Answer: because He was and is and always will be God.

Yes that might come as a shock to you to think that you matter that much to God. God loves you so much that He endured 33 years on this earth as a man, yet was still God. He suffered as anyone else would, felt all the human emotions we do (temptation, loss, death of friends, anger, frustration, sadness, joy etc.). He taught multitudes with great insight and understanding. He healed many, and even raised the dead.

He showed the religious leaders that they were in error and teaching man's ways instead of God's ways. He exposed the hypocrisy of their lifestyles and teachings. He told one of their teachers, a man by the name of Nicodemus that he needed to be born again.

In Jesus' explanation of being born again we can see we all need to be born again. His words are that flesh gives birth to flesh (or natural parents give birth to us, of the same kind of flesh, mind set and attitudes to), but God's Holy Spirit gives birth to our spirit.

We are spiritually dead in our sinfulness, God tells us that everyone who ever walked on this earth has sinned except Jesus. The attitudes of our hearts are dead to God's ways, we simply cannot understand them. But praise God our spirit's can be made alive inside of us by God's Holy Spirit though. Find out how, read on!.

All Jesus' time on earth was in preparation for His horrific painful death, and resurrection. Everything didn't just stop at Jesus' death, He rose again 3 days later. This is the justification that proves He is God. Many other guys have come and claimed they were a god or some sort of super being. Most of them are dead, and still in their graves or tombs. But you can visit Jerusalem today and see Jesus' tomb. It is very empty, and there is no way His body could have been stolen. He was seen alive again by more than 500 people.

Jesus once said "I Am the way the truth the life, no man may come to the Father except through Me". How can we come to the Father through Jesus?, how can our spirit's be born to God, How can we have our sins forgiven? How can we know we have Eternal Security, that we are Saved from an eternity in hell?.

Answer: Jesus said that anyone who comes to Him He will never turn away. That is another of God's promises, and as we have seen, God never breaks a promise. We can come to Jesus Christ believing and asking for forgiveness of our sins. Even knowing that our sins put Him on the cross, His love for us held Him there. When we have His Forgiveness, our sins will have been canceled out by His blood. We will no longer be under condemnation for our sins, they will be remembered no more by God.

You could pray a prayer like this, or in your own words because prayer is just like a conversation between you and God. Your heart must be sincere though, you are not 'testing' God to see if He works, you are coming before him asking for forgiveness for your sins and thanking Him for Jesus' sacrificial death on your behalf, for taking the punishment that was due to you.

Father God,

I know I am a sinner and that I have caused you and many others much grief . I know now that I have no one to blame for all my wrong actions, they were all part of my selfish nature. I ask you to FORGIVE me of my sins through the sacrifice of your Son Christ Jesus. I know now that I cannot work away my sins through religion or good works. Help me Lord to resist sin in future. I commit my life into your hands. Help me please to walk in your ways and know you more clearly. Father God, thank you for your Love, your goodness and mercy. Please create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me. May your Mighty Name be glorified in my life every day I live, and help me to bring joy to others through the living Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord, in the precious Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer sincerely and meaning it, then congratulations!. Your future has changed, and your past sins have been forgiven. It's a great feeling isn't it!. I know when I first came to Jesus it was as if my whole outlook on life changed instantly. First I cried when I understood how terribly I had sinned yet Jesus still loved me and suffered for me. The next morning hymns and words of Scripture came to me, words that seemed meaningless before suddenly had meaning. I was singing for joy in my heart. It was like my heart was 20 years younger and life was exciting again. I wish it could always be that way. But we do have a life to lead and responsibilities too!.

Someone once asked me a question which can trouble new believers. After he had come to the Lord a few days previously, he had told a lie to cover something he didn't want to do. He wanted to know if he was still saved?.

Well we know that we will probably be tempted and sin again at sometime in our lives, we are after all humans in a corrupt world. But we know that we can ask God's forgiveness. We can ask God to help us resist temptation, so we will not give in so easily to sin. When we choose to turn away from any sinful activity in our lives, that means we repent. In other words if I was having sexual relations with another person who isn't married to me, I'm sinning. When I make the decision to stop this activity and to be sorry to God for what I have done, and ask God to help me not to do it again, I am repenting.

God will send His Holy Spirit to help us resist temptation to sin which comes from the devil. By the power of the Holy Spirit in us then we will be able to resist sin. It is with God's strength, not our own that we will overcome the sins and temptations of this world.

To get to know the answers to these and other questions we should read His Word, the Bible. It teaches us His ways, His love, His goodness, His mercy, His righteousness and justness. His Word is exciting and applies to our lives today. His Holy Spirit will guide us to understand His Word. Get yourself a Bible and ask Him to show you all about Himself and your relationship with Him.
