My Old English Sheepdog, Endy

My Old English Sheepdog, Endy

Now Updated!!
---Endy is adjusting well to Texas and is about to have her first Christmas as a true Texan dog. She loves her morning walk and is finally able to enjoy the weather. (It's a chilly 60 degrees here in December!) And she really likes having free reign in our fenced-in backyard. But, alas, there is no snow for her to romp in! In one respect, Texas is more like her native England: the wind! It is very blustery here.
---I promise, the new pictures are coming soon! I have been so busy with school work and the likes that I haven't even answered my mail! But (gasp) Christmas break is coming!!!, so I'll have plenty of time to update everything.

When we got Endy, she could fit in our hands. That of course, didn't last very long. Now she weighs 80 pounds and, unfortunately, still thinks that she's a lap dog. Her front is white, with the exception of her eyes, and her back is dark grey.

About a year ago, she got this intestinal thing that happens in large chest cavity dogs, where her stomach literally twisted. Thankfully we found her soon because otherwise she wouldn't have lived. This occurance, which is very rare, also has a very low survival rate. Our vet neglected to mention this to us, or otherwise we might not have gone through the $500 operation. But to his credit, he was one of the few veternarians capable of diagnosing this disorder and treating it. In order to help Endy, they had to untwist her stomach and staple it to her chest. Guess that means that we can't ever take her on an airplane!

Endy is very energetic and bouncy. She has stuffed animals which we call bunnies (the first one was a bunny so we didn't want to confuse her) which she treats like her children. The strange thing is: she still brings them to us to throw so she can go fetch them. She also likes to chew up my tennis balls and softballs.
