CIRCLE
A Woman appears,
Light is born, Dark is born,
A Woman appears,
Yesterday is a memory, Tomorrow has begun,
A Woman appears,
Sound springs to life,
A Woman appears,
Forever is in Her eyes.
FATE
Do not despair,
Oh my fair,
Heart beats on, and everywhere,
A leaf laughs at the ground which comes,
Towards it at a peaceful rate,
Laugh too my fair,
For it is fate,
Fairy bright, and starry night,
Make peaceful love to us tonight,
Do not despair,
Oh my fair,
Life breeds on,
Both here and there.
Mother
Close your eyes little girl,
Go to sleep,
I will hold you,
No need to peep,
Loving arms with lots of folds,
Gently carress your warm soft cheek,
Close your eyes little girl,
Breath soft and deep,
Night has fallen,
No need to creep,
Warm soft breasts on which to lay your head,
Protection surrounds you from without and within,
Close your eyes little girl,
Go to sleep,
Your Mother's here.
Italian Love Poetry, Quotations and Proverbs
Do you notice, love, that I'm not crying
in your arms but shouting for gladness?
I bless the day I was born,
that has drowned me now in such beauty.
I enter into your eyes, like sunlight
in the leaves when it is day.
and there I find not one remaining cross
and even the night is always noon.
Then hand in hand, together we enter,
who knows just where or how, into heaven;
we see the blazing of a fire, and we can hear
the candle dying in the flame.
The dark has been too deep, too many thorns
that pierced us through; now the air
will be forever radiant, and in our hearts
we'll hear only one single voice.
"Love" is what that voice will say;
the world has become so beautiful,
no one is unhappy anymore,
and the stars are no longer cold in the sky.
By Albino Pierro
Translated by Hermann H. Haller
There is no rage in heaven like a love turned to hate
and there is no fury in hell like a woman scorned.
A woman who has never loved has never lived
Kisses, when given in love, are the
joining together of two loving souls.
The happiness of being in love
sweetens whatever pain exsists.
Sicilian Love Song
More than honey the words you speak are sweet,
Honest and wise, nobly and wittily said,
Yours are the beautiues of Camiola complete,
Of Iseult the blonde and Morgana the fairy maid.
If Blanchefluer should be added to the group,
Your loveliness would tower above each head.
Beneath your brows five beautiful things repose;
Love and a fire and flame, the lily, the rose.
