Politicians are all about "incentive" to create jobs - like tax cuts to the wealthy. They say that the quest for that extra Carribean mansion is a really big inventive for job creation. To me it just seems like more incentive for the rich to spend more time shopping or on vacation.
But not all of these "incentives" are aimed at the rich - as an incentive to look for jobs, we get the threat of starvation! Welfare, as they say, traps us in poverty. Which explains why all of those starvation countries like Ethiopia such great economies.
One "business friendly incentive" we have thanks to these politicians is that dividend money is taxes less than income from actual work. The only incentive these politicians give is incentive to own stuff.
And how about sexual harassment - if you don't like it, they say, why don't you quit? (This is mainly said by the more puritanical politicians!) I don't see just how the thought of being trapped in a elevator with a rapacious boss would make one an eager job-hunter. Or perhaps we'll be pushed to succeed by thinking that we might manage to become the harasser or someday? Maybe I think differently from them, but I'm not putting on a tie just yet.
