A memorial to Sept 10th 2001 9/10/01

Compared to Sept 11 2001(9/11) with Bin Laden's terrorist attack on America and the WTC, 10th was a non-day. It was a day full of peace, humanity, cooperation, and other things that don't sell papers:

"The World Trade Center is a living symbol of man's dedication to world peace ... beyond the compelling need to make this a monument to world peace, the World Trade Center should, because of its importance, become a representation of man's belief in humanity, his need for individual dignity, his beliefs in the cooperation of men, and through cooperation, his ability to find greatness."

- Minoru Yamasaki - Architect of WTC
On Sept 10th, peace, humanity and cooperation were not yet rubble and dust.

Events on Sept 10th:

Bush urged a quick passage of an education bill. He made a similar statment on Sept 1st, upon returning from an astounding amount of time on vacation. (And why was he using up all of his vacation time? Did he know there would be no vacations in the future?) Why such a hurry from the vacation president?

Bush even confirmed what his location would be on Sept 11th:

Q Mr. President, what's your message on education today? Do you have anything to say about education today, Mr. President?

THE PRESIDENT: In Florida.

(Note: Yes, we know his "answers" are gibberish. The Media is very careful not to quote him unless he has a script in his hand).

Despite the terrorist onslaught, he remained at his pre-announced location.

Joe Biden made a prophetic remark:

In a spirited attack on President Bush's plans for national missile defense, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) said yesterday the administration was risking a new arms race and draining money from other domestic and military programs for a porous system that would never add to U.S. security.

"Missile defense has to be weighed carefully against all other spending and all other military priorities," Biden said in a speech at the National Press Club. "And in truth, our real security needs are much more earthbound and far less costly than national missile defense."

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell was preparing to go to Columbia, to meet President Andrés Pastrana on Sept 11th.
Bartcop also made a prophecy:

"Firemen enter burning, crumbling buildings...I think I like firemen better."

Gary Condit existed. I have proof.
Bush's approval rating was 51%, according to Gallop. 100,000 protestors were expected to surround the White House on Sept 29th and 30th. A fence topped with razor wire was planned to be erected around the White House, despite the obvious anti-photo op this would mean for a president who does nothing but photo-ops.

The only people who did not think the "Taliban" is a boy band are feminists, bleeding-heart humans rights groups like Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and anti-corporate activists.

Here is an article from the left-wing Zmag about the abuse of racial minorities in Afgan prisons. On Sept 10th, republicans like John "Dubya" Lihn would have considered this "tough on crime" goodness.

The left-wing Revolutionary Women of Afganistan were in action, and still are. They met the new boss, same as the old boss.

Here is an email from the Feminist Majority dated Mar 3 1999.

And another dated Nov 24 1999

Events before Sept 10th:
On Sept 9th eight people were killed in southern Iraq when British and American planes enforced the no-fly zone - by bombing civilian areas.
From the monthly energy chronicle:

"September 5 Enron Chairman and Chief Executive Kenneth Lay announces that the company will divest itself of $4-$5 billion in assets in the next two years" - No kidding! All jokes aside, this coincidence needs to be pointed out:

"August 14 The Environmental Protection Agency announces that it will not issue a reassessment of an air pollution rule affecting coal-fired power plants by August 17, as originally announced in the President's energy policy plan speech in May." (A less LIE-filled way to say this would be "Bush LIED") " Instead, the decision, which is part of a plan to ease the regulatory burden on the energy industry without having an environmental rollback, will be delayed until September in order to be part of a more comprehensive set of policy options. (NYT, WP) " Gee, why SEPTEMBER? And how about this bit, where Bush Joins the Axis of Evil:

"August 3 U.S. President George Bush signs into law the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act (ILSA) Extension Act of 2001. This Act provides for a 5-year extension of ILSA with amendments that affect certain of the investment provisions. ILSA sanctions foreign companies that provide new investments of over $40 million for the development of petroleum resources in Iran or Libya, or that violate existing United Nations prohibitions against trade with Libya." HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART: "The law allows the president to waive sanctions against a foreign company if doing so is deemed to be in the U.S. national interest."

Had nobody ever considered highjacked planes as weapons?

One myth about Sept 10th is that nobody was prepared for the Kamakasie attacks that came the next day. In fact:
During the G8 Summit, airspace over the city was closed and anti-aircraft Surface to Air Missile systems were set up.

This was because Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said that Bin Laden intended to use a "plane stuffed with explosives" were set up. during the G8 summit, and that "It was a well-known piece of information." This information came as early as June 13.

The Singapore press says that "A major concern of security officials at the time was an attack by terrorists using hang-gliders." Yet, allegedly, not kamakasie attacks, which are as old as WW2.

Security types were so paranoid about air attacks that during the FTAA summit, a greenpeace hot-air balloon was intercepted with a helicopter and made to land.

Melvin Clark, after retiring as commander of the DC Metropolitan Police Department's special operations division, said that

"If anyone is going to try to do something to the White House, it's going to be more elaborate than just driving up along the side of the street...People walking up to it are not the major threat - it's anyone with air-strike capability"

He said this in response to attempts to protect the White House after a series of assanation attempts on the president, including one in which a small aircraft was flown into the White House. This was years before Sept 11th.

Even more disturbing events in the days before Sept 11th

Clinton, between fighting off lawsuit harrassment, was doing all he could to slaughter Bin Laden. For this republicans rewarded him by accusing him of distracting the media from something more important to them than terrorist plots - Clinton's penis!

At the same time, Bush and his oil buddies invited the Taliban to America for a wine and dine!

Speaking of Bush and his oil buddies, Enron said "This year, in addition to again naming us "America's Most Innovative Company," Fortune ranked Enron "No. 1 in Quality of Management" and "No. 2 in Employee Talent" of all American companies. The magazine also acknowledged us as one of the 25 best places to work in America. We recognize that our intellectual capital is our most important asset, and we cherish it. All employees are shareholders. " (True - against their will!)

Useless fact: the following are typos I made while typing this page: qtc, and bind laden, and bin lacen, also wetc, ewrxc, wrx, wrtc, I also mispelled wtvc, wrtc, and even wrote wrc, wtcx, and stcx, by the way who is oasama bin laden?
