A LITTLE INFO ABOUT ME!
-My autobiography including my conversion story and mission plans.
I was born on November 14, 1979 in Dayton, Ohio.
My childhood was pretty dull, and semi-tramatic as I had major problems
with bullies in my second year of school. I then moved to a different school
district which was a lot safer. From then on my life was very monotonous,
until eighth grade when I joined the church.
My grandparents, and my mother joined the church
in 1978. However they became inactive towards the early eighties. I don't
even remember anything from attending church, accept some guys giving me
bread, and water. Throughout the years as I moved in with my grandparents
in third grade, their hometeachers continued to come and teach them gospel
truths. 1993 was a highlight year for me.
In February I went on a church outing with a friend
of mine from a different church to some ski lodge, and when I returned
I had seriously thought about joining his church. When I returned from
this outing two missionaries came over to talk with us I wasn't really
receptive at this time to the gospel. But I did befriend these elders,
although mission wise they were labled as slackers, every time they came
over we would play video games, or go sledding, after the first initial
time they tried to teach me the gospel they never tried again. Time went
on and they were transferred or sent home. In October of that same year
two more elders from the Church came knocking on the door. Their initial
job was to re-activate my grandparents, as I hadn't followed up on joining
my friend's church I was more receptive this time, and the Elders who taught
me were more diligent in teaching than the former Elders. We started the
discussions in mid-October and I was baptized on December 5, 1993.
In retrospect I see three distinct chances
that the Lord gave me to find the gospel. 1)Through my family had they
stayed active. 2)Through the first set of Elders 3)Through a set of Elders
who had come for my grandparents, but had converted me instead.
Since joining the church, or since the Lord
loved me enough to bring the gospel my way I feel a deep desire to serve
Him by serving a mission, I feel it is the only way that I can begin to
pay him back. I also feel it would help me out a lot.
Since I joined the church at age fourteen
I have served as Teachers quorum Pres., Priests 1st assistant, Priests
Secretary, Secretary of My Seminary Class Presidency, Vice President, and
President, in that order, and am now serving as priests first assistant
again. I have graduated seminary, and am currently enrolled in institute.
I have had many wonderful experiences since
joining the church, but this Summer I had the best experience of my Life.
I served in the 1998 Hill Cumorah Pageant-"America's Witness For Christ",
please see my Hill Cumorah page. This was the highlight of my life thus
far. I am currently working to get prepared to serve a mission towards
the beginning of 1999.
