Here are some assignments
your instructor might let you do
for EXTRA CREDIT
FOR EXTRA CREDIT, MEMORIZE THESE WORDS OF WISDOM:
THE TEN MARKS OF AN EDUCATED
MAN
He keeps his mind open on
every question until the evidence is all in.
He always listens to the man who knows.
He never laughs at new ideas.
He cross-examines his daydreams.
He knows his strong point and plays it.
He knows the value of good habits and how to form them.
He knows when to think and when to call in the expert to think for him.
You can't sell him magic.
He lives the forward-looking, outward-looking life.
He cultivates a love of the beautiful.
Go to the Scientific
America Search Engine, type in one of the O.L.E. Topics
and see what comes up. Write a short report on any new information you
find
out about the topic. As an example, I typed in Hovercraft and got an article
entitled "13
Vehicles That Went Nowhere". You could maybe write a brief
description of the 13 vehicles and why they flopped.
Go to the "The
Molecular Expressions Photo Gallery" and see what some
of todays common materials look like thru a microscope. The pictures are
called photomicrographs (photographs taken through a microscope) . Some
are very interesting. Print out a few good ones and see if other students
in
your class can figure out what they are. (You'll need a color printer)
