It's been a long time since I evaluated my life. All 20 years of it. The world's moving at such a rapid speed that it is hard to just stop to think : "Hey, where am I going?" Have you ever thought about that? Questions about life, and about death, have often come my way and passed me by. We often brush them aside because they are things that people oft take for granted, until one or the other fails to exist. A loved one or a close friend dies, someone gets a fatal disease, you hear of a famous person die. Morbid though it may be, these questions are crucial to one's existence. No one can know where they are going unless they can answer life's question : "What is your life all about?"
Let me offer a solution. It's called Jesus Christ. Yeah, you have heard it until you are sick of it, people coming up to you, preaching, bugging you to come to church, to pray, to accept Christ. "What's the big deal?" you say. "What's the fuss, the hurry to become a Christian?"
No one can ever force you to do anything against your own will. Think about it. You may argue, "Yeah, but what about people being shot, killed, massacred?" True indeed, these people don't choose to die, but they have the choice to die dignified and honoured, standing up for what they believe in. This argument may not hold for every situation, but CHOICE is something no one can ever take away from you.
Pause and think. How much meaning is there in your life right now? Has anyone told you that there is more to life than meets the common man's eye? Christianity today has been insulted, criticised, heavily scrutinised and sadly prejudiced against. Is your perception of Christians influenced by mass media, hypocritical friends, fallen leaders, or even a misconception that being a Christian restricts your freedom and space to be a person? That it is a list of dos and don'ts and that anyone who is not a Christian will die and go to Hell?
Those are good feelings. It is healthy to question one's beliefs and principles. What are your principles today? What do you really believe in all the years of your life? What has motivated you to live day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year? Let me provide you with one suggestion:
Have you heard of the Four Spiritual Laws? Click on the link and read for yourself. You will get the picture.
Back already? Perhaps you have seen it before and do not really understand or choose not to understand. Well, let me spell it straight out for you :
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me."
Have you ever heard this verse before? It may sound selfish and arrogant, but what it means is basically that Jesus Christ is the Way to God, the only way. "What makes you so sure?" you may ask. Have you ever read the Bible? Do you believe that the Bible is the Word of God?
