The will of Henry Fuller was written 16 January 1846 and
proven 19 February 1848. It is filed in Laurens County, South Carolina,
box 101, pkg 4; D. H. Henderson and Wm. Wharton, executors.
Will of Henry Fuller:
In the name of God. Amen. I Henry Fuller
of the State of South Carolina Laurens DIstrict, being of sound and disposing
mind and memory, but weak in body and knowing that it is appointed unto
all men once to die, and not knowing how soon I shall be called: and being
desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to
bless me with, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament revoking
all others hitherto made.
First. I bequeath my soul to God who gave it to
me and my body to the dust from whence it sprang to be buried in a decent
christian like manner.
Secondly After paying all my just debts and funeral
expenses I give demise and dispose of my property in the following manner,
that is to say.
I lend to my beloved wife Tempy
Fulller my farm and tract of land wheron I now live, my negro man Buster,
negro Girl Mary, negro boy wade, negro boy Zack, two Horses, two cows and
calves, one Years provision and such necessary plantatoin tools and Household
and Kitchen furniture, as she and my Executors hereafter named may think
she needs. I lend the above property to my wife Tempy Fuller during
her widowhood or until my son Henry becomes of age except my negro boy
Zack, which I lend to my son Henry when he arrives at the age of eighteen
years old. The above property lent is for the support of my wife
Tempy Fuller and the support of my two sons Henry and Jones now with my
wife, and for their education. It is also expressly understood for
the use of the property lent by wife that whe is to charge my two sons
Henry and Jones no board.
I lend to my daughter Celia
Henderson my negro boy George. I lend my daughter Leander Wharton
my negro boy Jack. They are both to take possession of the above
negro boys so soon as the present crop is made and gathered.
In case my wife should marry,
I desire the whole of the property lent her and the negro boys lent to
my daughters Celia Henderson and Leander Wharton all brought up as my estate
and the whole to be immediately sold, but in case she should not marry,
I desire that it should remain as above disposed of until my son Henry
becomes of age: then I desire the whole of my property both real
and personal to be sold.
The balance of my property not
above disposed of to be sold immediately after my death or so much of it
as my executors may think necessary. also I desire my negro Jim to
be sold at my death. I desire the whole of my property both real
and personal to be equally divided between my wife Tempy Fuller, my daughter
Celia Henderson, my daughter Leander Wharton, my son Henry and my son Jones
share and share about. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint
my sons-in law William Wharton and Drury H. Henderson Ececutors to this
my last will and testament by me heretofore made.

hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 16th day of January 1846.
