In the name of God, Amen. I Richard Bennett, being weak in body, but sound in mind and memory, thanks be to God, resigning my body to the dust and my soul to God, that give it, do make this my last will and testament. Respecting those things which God haith given me, I do hereby will and bequeath in the following manner. And first of all my just debts be paid by colecting of moneys that is due me, and selling of the cotton crop, and any other articles that my beloved wife Sarah Bennett and my two friends which will be hearafter appointed, shall think most convenent if required to discharge my debts. Secondly, I will and bequeath that the following articles shall be sold at twelve months credit and the money let out at intrust till it is required in the family, one negro woman named Jane, one waggon crascut saw, one gray mare, one grindstone, one mans saddle, one ax, and other articles that those my wife and executors shall think proper to spare. Article the third, I do hereby will and bequeath that my beloved wife Sarah Bennett shall enjoy all and the property at this time held by me, not otherwise disposed during her natural life or widowhood. And at the expiration of either term, from the property to be divided according as the law directs between my wife and children, Anna, Miles, Jennette. Article the fourth, I do hereby appoint and ordain Thomas Hendrick and Lewis Jones executors of this my last will and testament revoking all others this 3rd. of December, 1820.
