In 1961, the Country Music Association (CMA) began its Hall of fame inductions. That year, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and Fred Rose were all inducted. In 1963, there was no induction. At that time CMA rules required a unanimous vote. However, none of the nominees received enough votes. Therefore, the CMA directors amended the rules and removed that requirement.In 1967, CMA expanded their awards program to include -- Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Duo, Vocal Group, Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year.
This list omits all categories except Hall of Fame after 1990. The reason is that our web site is dedicated to Original Country Music. Today's country music does not represent the original sound or style of country music.
