Our third CD
was recorded in March 1999. The following tunes are included:

BOGALUSA STRUT was written by the trumpet player Sam Morgan and recorded by his band (with Jim Robinson tb) in 1927. Bogalusa is a small city by the Pearl River in Louisiana.
HESITATING BLUES is a slightly different blues with a beautiful dim-chord structure. It was composed by W.C. Handy, "Father of the Blues".
I´LL BE WITH YOU IN APPLE BLOSSOM TIME - a popular song by Albert von Tilzer .
ALL THE WONDERS YOU GAVE ME is the only original melody on this CD. This sweet little waltz was composed in 1999 by our clarinet player Sverker Nyström.
ONE SWEET LETTER FROM YOU - a "rocky" version of the Harry Warren tune (a Sophie Tucker hit in the twenties with Red Nichols and Miff Mole.)
BUDDY´S HABIT was written by the ragtime composer Charley Straight and the clarinetist Arnett Nelson in Jimmy Wade´s Moulin Rouge Orchestra. Nelson wrote this tune to their tuba player Buddy Gross, whose habit was to leave the stage for the bathroom, due to large consumtion of beer… King Oliver made a famous version of Buddy´s Habit in 1923. We play it slowly, without the breaks.
JEALOUS was composed by Little Jack Little, Tommie Malie and Dick Finch in 1924. Recorded by "Vagabonds" the same year.
OUT IN THE COLD AGAIN was written in 1934 by the pianist Rube Bloom and Ted Koehler. It was recorded the same year by Casa Loma Orchestra.
CLIMAX RAG was originally a piano rag, composed in 1914 by James Scott. George Lewis made some legendary recordings ("Climax sessions") with his New Orleans Stompers in 1943, and several New Orleans bands have made jazz versions of this rag.
JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE is a traditional tune that was picked up (probably not composed) by the gospel composer and arranger Kenneth Morris about 1940. First recorded in 1941, it is now one of the most popular religous tunes played by jazz bands.
MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME by Stephen Foster (1826-64) is referring to the old Rowan mansion in Bardstown, Kentucky. Our version features Sverker Nyström playing alto sax in a true New Orleans style.
I´M ALONE BECAUSE I LOVE YOU by Ira Shuster, Joe Young and John Siras. The first recording of this tune was probably by Dick Robertson & His Orchestra in 1941. Joe Young was a productive lyricist with many hits.
CORRINE, CORRINA is a blues from the beginning of the 20th century. Recorded as "Corrina Blues" by Blind Lemon Jefferson in 1926.
MY BUCKET´S GOT A HOLE IN IT was already played by Buddy Bolden. The origin is said to be a tune called Keep a-Knocking, shown in our second vocal chorus. Keep a-Knocking was recorded by Little Richard in the fifties.
