This diagram below will explain how to measure the
distance (in degrees) between two or more objects in the
Night Sky. It's really very simple.


For starters, make a fist and hold your arm up toward the
sky. Extend your little finger out only.(as shown below).
The width of the end of your little finger is just about
exactly 1 degree. Enough to covor up the Moon or the Sun.
Next, extend only your three middle fingers(shown below).
The width of the tip of the three fingers covers 5 degrees.
A complete fist, covors 10 degrees. The little finger
and fore finger extended out as shown below, covors about
15 degrees of sky. Litte finger and thumb extended out as
shown below, covors about 25 degrees of sky. JUST REMEMBER
TO KEEP YOUR ARM FULLY EXTENDED OUT.
Its that simple.
