The GRUMMAN Tomcat is a navy designated fighter it's a two seat
fighter with wing sweepback from 20 deg. to 68 deg(75deg. for storing on carriers).
Won the US Navy VFX fighter competition on january 15 1969,first flight on december 21 1970 , the last 102 tomcats had improved TF30-P-414A turbofans, engine power 93 kN.
The F-14A had small canards extended forward progressively to 15 deg. from inboard leading edge to balance supersonic trim change and unload tail surfaces.
The movement of the wings is controlled automatically with an option of manual override unlike his Russian counterpart that has only manual wind sweepback control.
The F-14 has an automatic carrier landing system(ALCS).

WEAPONS AND WEAPOR SYSTEMS---
      In the F-14A - hughes AN/AWG-9 weapons control system
      with detect range of than 65-170nm(120-135km;75-195miles)
      the system has an ability to track 24 enemy targets and
      attack six of them simultaneously at varied altitudes and
      distances and a kaiser Aerospace AN/AVG-12 vercical
      and head-up display system.
      one GE M61A-1 vulcan 20mm gun with 675 rounds of
      ammunition. Four AIM-7 Sparrow or four AIM-54 Pheonix
      missiles.
      Two wing pylons ,one under each fixed wing selection can
      carry four AIM-9 or two aditional Sparrow or Pheonix
      missiles with two sidewinders.
      The F-14D has bombong capability ,Rockeye and GBU-59
      cluster bombs ,GBU-16 LGB and Gator mine to folow
      AGM-88 Harm ARM and SLAM ASMs planned.
