The F/A-18 Hornet
The F/A-18 Hornet is manufactured by McDonnell
DOUGLAS it was made by the demand of the U.S Navy
to replace the aging F-14 Tomcat that was supplied to
the U.S Navy in the early 80's.
There are some vertions to the F/A-18 the:F/A-18A,B,C,D.
The F/A subulizes F-fighter A-attack.
The F/A-18 was supplied to the Marines as well as to the
U.S Navy.
The F/A-18 was desined to land on carriers and on land.

Power Plant---
          Two General Electric F404-GE-400 low bypass
          turbofans ,each 71.2 kN with afterburning.
          The F404-GE-402 EPE (Enchanced Preformance
          Engine) 78.3 kN
Fuel---
          Internal fuel capasity approx 6061 litres.
          External tanks up to three 1250 litres each.
Armanment---
          Nine external weapon stations ,two wingtip stations
          for AIM-9 Sidewinder , two outboard stations for
          AIM-7 Sparrows , AIM-9 Sidwinders , AIM-120
          AMRAAMs , AGM-84 Harpoons and AGM-65F
          Maverick missiles ,
          and other air-to-air & air-to-ground weapons.
          Two inboard wing stations for external fuel tanks
          ,other air-to-ground weapons , brunswik ADM-141
          TALD(tactical air-launched decoys) , two nacelle
          fuselage stations for Sparrows or Martin Marietta
          AN/ASQ-173 laser spot tracker / strike camera
          (LST/SCAM) or AN/AAs-38 and AN/AAR-50 sensor
          pods , and a centerline fuselage station for external
          fuel or weapons .

Air-to Ground Weapons---
          The supported ait-to-ground weapons are: GBU-10/12
          laser guided bombs, Mk 82 & Mk 84 general porpouse
          bombs, GBU-59 cluster bombs.
          An M61A1 20mm six-barrel gun, with 570 rounds .
