Constitution of the Kingdom of Aveshria

Preamble

In accordance with the principles which guide this land; principles of justice, opportunity, peace, harmony, and monarchy; does this land, the Kingdom of Aveshria, hereby declare this constitution as its highest law.

Article One

Aveshria shall be governed by a monarch, first descended from the legitimate line of monarchs. Should the monarch be female, she will be known as Queen. Should the monarch be male, he will be known as King. In the case of the first monarch of Aveshria, she is to be Queen Amistra I, founder of the line Aveshria. In this document, references to the Queen shall be construed to include her male counterpart.

The Queen is Queen of Aveshria and the Aveshrians. Her rule is a function of this constitution, and thereby the highest law of Aveshria. She is the embodiment of Aveshria, and the repository of its sovereignty. As her will dictates, does the law comply.

Should the Queen so desire, she may abdicate her throne, and upon such abdication, the throne will be assumed by her rightful heir. Should the Queen have no heir, she may pass the throne to a suitable candidate of her choice, and the new monarch's line will become the ruling line of Aveshria.

Article Two

The Queen shall choose a Council of Advisors, whose duty it will be to inform and advise the Queen in her governance of the Kingdom and its relations with other nations. The Queen may also delegate those duties, responsibilities, rights, and powers to said advisors as she deems necessary.

If the Queen so desires, she may appoint persons as representatives of the Kingdom, who shall have that authority which she bestows upon them, in dealing with foreign nations.

Article Three

The Judiciary of the Kingdom shall consist of any judges appointed by the Queen to fulfill said role. It is their duty to judge those cases which come before them on the basis of the laws of this Kingdom.

The Queen is the highest judge in the Kingdom, and the final court of appeal. All parties to a case have the right to appeal a case to the Queen's judgement. She may then either agree to hear the case, or decide to allow the ruling of the lower court stand.

Article Four

Citizenship shall be granted to those who request it and are deemed worthy by the queen or her chosen representative in this matter. Citizenship will be offered to all who are born of at least one Aveshrian parent.

Signed this first day of October, in the first year of the reign of Queen Amistra I, 1998.
