New Brunswick: Officer dies after complaint

National Post

SAINT JOHN - A former police officer who was at the centre of a controversy involving the city's police department has died in a Fredericton hospital. Keith Langford, 39, accused the force of racism last year, claiming he was subjected to racial slurs from fellow officers during his 17 years on the force. In an out-of-court settlement, the city issued an apology, $120,000 over six years and a pension. The cause of his death has not been released.
