Accused Hickey Coach Takes Own Life

Within days of being charged with several counts of indicent assault,
a former children's hockey coach killed himself.

RCMP determined that Arnold Douglas White, 47, died from a single
self inflicted gunshot wound, Const Dan Cochlan said yesterday.

He said White, from this Northern coast community (Prince Rupert),
was charged with six counts of indicent assault for incidents between
1971 to 1975. White coached Minor Hockey, baseball and soccer.

A passing motorist saw White's body slumped in his vehicle and
called police, Cochlan said.
