New Anti-Slander Law in Israel
The [Israel] Knesset Law and Justice committee is formulating a law against slander in the media. According to the draft put forward by MK Moshe Gafni, reporters would have to refrain from mentioning a criminal's religious or cultural background.
I see this as a small but important step towards improving our media.
IMW is a registered non-profit organization whose major aim is assuring the ethical and fair conduct of the Israeli media.
