OPEN LETTER TO THE MEDIA

Out of deep concern for Israel's democratic character, we appeal to media personalities to place the commitment to democracy and political fair play above their inclinations to this or that side.

Journalists must draw a clear line between their right to express their opinions in personal columns and their work as news editors and as interviewers.

Providing a proper and fair stage for the appearance of both candidates for the premiership before the public is a moral-professional obligation. Any harm done to these principles is injurious to the very heart of democracy.
