Rich lived with his parents in Niles, Michigan in the early 70's. That is where he met his high school sweetheart. They were very much in love, and planning to be married, when she became pregnant. Her parents interfered, and kept Rich from contacting her. They sent her away for the remainder of her pregnancy. Rich was crushed, and tried to locate her numerous times.
She gave birth to a girl in July of the following year. Rich finally found out which hospital she was at, and rushed to see her, so they could get married and keep their baby girl. However, he was too late. His girlfriend committed suicide while still in the hospital, recovering from the birth. She could not bear to live without her child and Rich.Her parents took the baby girl and gave her up for adoption. Rich was never able to find out what happened to his daughter.
This is a very sketchy synopsis of the story, as told to me by Rich. Rich has promised to fill in the details and put them here. Hopefully, someone with some information about his daughter will see it and contact him. He has never had any other children, and has been grieving privately for his daughter and her mother all these years.
