Take advantage of lingering resentment of the IRS. Tax Freedom Day is
the day you stop working for the government and start working for yourself...surely
a day to celebrate!
In 1998, National Tax Freedom Day is May 10th, (one day later than last year) state Tax Freedom Days vary...you can easily find your states' Tax Freedom Day at Tax Freedom Site.
You can promote the Tax Freedom Day idea either using the National Day, your states' day, or... you can now offer a way people can find out their own PERSONAL Tax Freedom Day!
The Tax Freedom Day website helps drive home the point of how little time people actually spend working for themselves and how much of their lives they spend working for government. The site generates a customized tax freedom day estimate based on information the user inputs. After learning the depressing results, the visitor is then referred to the LP and other resources.
To help you promote the LP while the threat of government is still fresh
in people's minds, here are two sample press releases for you to paste
into your word processor, edit to your content, and send off to newspapers,
radio stations, and television stations.
