Re: Free Speech for Working People
Dear Secretary [Secretary's Name]:
The federal-state employment offices were specifically desiginated
by Congress to dissiminate "information as to opportunities for
employment and other information of value." Act of June 6, 1933. I
believe all Americans, former employees as well as employers, should
have free speech to give out employment information in these publicly
funded fora. I also believe it will be good for our market economy. The
truth is self evident: Free speech is a precondition of each and every
free market trade including that of "at will" employment. In other words,
anyone who doesn't support free speech on economic issues such as
employment information is, as a matter of pure reason, necessarily
against free market capitalism.
I hereby make a formal request that the State of [Your State] open the
bulletin boards, computer networks and all other communicative services
in the State of [Your State]'s employment offices to all Americans who
wish to communicate employment information. I also make a formal
request that the enclosed flyer be posted all of the state's employment
offices to notify all former employees and job seekers that they have
freedom of speech to openly discuss employers.
Yours,
[Your Name]
