Notes about Education Reform
The following are from Nov. and Dec. 1992

I'm sorry these notes are not in any particular order as yet, I have plans to group them into different classifications eventually.  And yes, they are a few years old but from what I've been reading on the WWW nothing has changed since these notes were written.  Pay particular attention to the comments about Eastern mysticism, etc., being taught.  I'm not sure what you consider these things, but I consider them religion.  Now if you can't pray in school, read the Bible or teach Christianity then lets not teach ANY type of religion.  No matter what your religious affiliation is, or even if you have none, you should be concerned about this. Its possible that your child is being taught something you are opposed to.  Even before the new education reform, I myself had a problem with a teacher who took it upon himself in English class to tell the students that the Bible was nothing but a 'bunch of fairy tales'.  As far as I could tell he didn't teach any other type of religion, but he did severely undermine what I had taught my child.  What right did this teacher have to inflict his own beliefs on my son?  The teacher was there to teach my son English, NOT to push his own religious beliefs on the children in his classroom.

Dear Gwen,

What you are talking about here, astral-projection, mediation, etc. is religion.  Christ & God are outlawed, but Eastern Mysticism type religions are being introduced in place of Christianity.  Any alert parents will recognize that with this being a teaching of religion, that the schools are COMMITTING A SERIOUS VIOLATION OF THE LAW, and can be sued by the parents for such.  They could sue the school district into submission if they were organized & pooled their funds and resources.  There may even be the possibility of suing the teachers, principals, & school superintendent personally, which would have a crushing blow on these SOB's in stopping what they are doing, and exposing them for what they are.  What they are teaching is religion, and it is highly illegal.  They should bypass the school board and file a lawsuit immediately, and seek a restraining order until the suit comes to court.    Tym in Las Vegas
****

Tym,
Agreed. Nothing can get people's attention like a lawsuit and the possibility of taking a heavy hit in the wallet.
My friend who teaches in the Olathe district has said that she and her fellow teachers fully realize that what is now being taught is of course religion, ala eastern mysticism,.....and yet they are constantly cautioned as re: NOT mentioning anything having to do with God and Christ. These school boards, administrators, et al, need to be called on the illegality of what their doing, and a lawsuit is the way to go. God bless

John, as respects the cultic influence in our public school system, I learned from a member of a Social Issues Task Force (an organization meeting at a local church to research and disseminate information impacting the moral breakdown of society incl. schools, the media, government, etc.) that the AMERICA 2000 curriculum currently being touted as a revolutionary approach to education, is taken from a plan of  Robert Mueller of Arlington, Texas.  Mr. Mueller's revolutionary guide to educating our children was published by the LUCIS TRUST ( originally called the LUCIFER PUBLISHING CO.).  We can assume that the Judeo/Christian ethic will not play a very large part in the plan.

The following is an excerpt from CHRISTIAN AWARENESS NEWSLETTER, Summer/Fall 1991, pg. 10 detailing the speech of Professor Chester Pierce of Harvard University Dept. of Educational Psychiatry to a national teachers convention

"Every child of America entering school at the age of five is mentally ill, because he comes to school with certain allegiances toward his founding fathers, towards his elected officials, towards his parents, toward a belief in a supernatural being, towards the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity.  It's up to you teachers to make all these children well, by creating international children of the future."

    ANYONE FOR HOME SCHOOLING ???

Thomas,

According to Bertrand Russell, a socialist and member of the Fabian Society, a British NWO organization, wrote in his 1953 book, THE IMPACT OF SCIENCE ON SOCIETY

"It is to be expected that advances in psychology will give governments much more control over individual mentality than they now have...Education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school master would have wished."

"Even if all are miserable, all will believe themselves happy, because the government will tell them that they are so."

Think back to pre-1950s education, and the tremendous decline in education over the past thirty years.  Read other notes on this BB regarding the NWO approach to education and you will see their methods.  They are slowly leading each generation closer to acceptance of such a system. The media bombards us with polls, biased information, politically correct agendas, etc. The NWO cabal has been assaulting us daily over the past 50 years or so, conditioning us on every front, so when they finally make their move, it will meet no opposition.  They expect to be welcomed with open arms as the only solution to our problems. They first create a PROBLEM, then IDENTIFY it for the masses, then SOLVE the problem.  Wow, are they wonderful, are they smart, they should rule the WORLD!!!  Then all our problems would be over!!!

Thomas, remember, this has been a long-term project involving brainwashing of the masses through the media and education, and manipulation of the economy and world events to bring about a certain state of mind.  When enough people buy into their NWO utopia proposal, they'll be in without firing a shot.

Hi All,
The following article was taken from our city newspaper dated November 12,1992.

"PARENTS OBJECT TO VALUES-BASED COUNSELING IN DE SOTO SCHOOLS"
The De Soto School board has called a special fact finding meeting to address objections to an elementary counseling program of about 60 De Soto parents.

The group first approached Superintendent Marilyn Layman Thursday expressing their objections to DUSO and Pumsy, elementary counseling programs used by the district.

The DUSO, which is Developing Understanding of Self and Others, and Pumsy counseling programs are intended to increase children's self esteem.  The program use coloring sheets, songs, and stories about feelings.  Counselors use two puppets - DUSO the Dolphin and Pumsy the Dragon - to get the message across to the elementary children.

"They were demanding we take this out of the curriculum, and that a (school) board decision.  I felt the board should be informed," Layman said.

Layman temporarily suspended the counseling sessions and requested a special school board meeting Monday night to explain the concerns.  After hearing an update of the situation, school board president Alan Hays called a special fact finding meeting for 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at De Soto Elementary School.

Hays said he did not allow parents to address the board Monday night fearing the meeting would become chaotic.  He said the board was willing to hear the group's concerns Tuesday under the following conditions:
That the parent's group appoint or select a panel of people to represent them.
That the panel have an agenda with the specific points of the program the parents object to. After hearing the concerns, district administrators, counselors, and parents for the program then will have a chance to respond, Hays said.

The group has been organized by De Soto residents Bill and Joy Swisher and Jody Hadl .  The Swishers refused comment Tuesday, and Jody Hadl could not be reached for comment.

According to literature the the group gave the school board from a national organization opposing the programs, the characters "lead the children into unhealthy adventures...guiding children down occult pathways under the guise of self esteem."

According to the literature, the Pumsy program includes "bizarre" activities such as painting mind pictures and chanting, asking the children to discuss their parents' divorce, what things upset them  and ways they do not get along with their parents.  The DUSO program teaches breathing and relaxation techniques and guides them through fantasies while they listen to new age music.

The groups literature also opposes "value clarification" where students define and implement personal values based on seven criteria.  Children are taught to base their own values on situations which opponents of the programs say detracts from values taught at home.

"We are not using the program to the extent the literature says," Layman said.
"We are not being harmful to children. I think we are helping children."
(end of article)

You can be assured our children are being indoctrinated and the responsible parties are the elite globalists who wish us all to live in a one world government under a dictatorship! This luckily is not my children's school but parents better beware of what programs their children's school are using. This is scary indeed!  Any Comments??    God Bless, Pam

Pam; Your post reminds me of an incident we encountered here in Mesa, AZ and the public school system. Shortly after entering 1st grade here, my son said to the teacher that "he wished he was dead". Let me explain how he arrived at
that first so you will better understand the situation. My wife's father, Bill, passed away before Cody was born and he has always been very inquisitive about his Grandpa Bill. We have always been truthful and told him that he died and we were sure he was "up in heaven". So Cody puts 2 and 2 together and figures if he dies too, he will get to see Bill. Makes sense to me.....but obviously it really threw the teacher for a loop. She immediately sends Cody to a school psychologist and he was grilled on his wish to die. Here's the kicker......We as parents, didn't even find out about the statement or his session with the psychologist until 5 weeks later when we attended a parent teacher conference. When the teacher let it slip, it didn't sink in for a second, them WHAMMO, the light went on. And I went off....I came out of that little chair they have you sit in and just about tore her head off. We then headed straight for the principals office and relayed the story to her. She apologized up and down, said that was definitely the wrong procedures and we could be assured it would never happen again. I assured her if it DID ever happen again, there would be pure Hell to pay.....and I meant it.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest...I will never forget that and I also urge parents out there to become more and more involved in your child's education. On my wife's side of the family there are 3 Educators, 2 with Doctors degrees, and if you could hear them at family gatherings, you would want to blow up the system and start all over again. I totally trust their judgment, which makes me clearly suspicious of the system.

Pam,
Interesting note. I would have to agree with you about it being a scary situation. Easy to see why many of the kids nowadays have no sense of values/ worth when it comes to functioning in today's world. I see it all the time. They are pretty much taught that " if it feels good, then do it", and since the basis/foundation for instilling such, school as well as home, has/is eroded , and under constant attack by these global minded 'social engineers', is it any wonder that these kids are so functionally illiterate, social and otherwise.

The last paragraph of your first note really caught my eye. I have a good friend who has taught in the Olathe School District for a number of years. She is currently teaching this year at the Kansas School for the Deaf, also in Olathe. Now, she called me the other day to touch base, and in the course of our conversation,....she began telling me that many of the children are now being taught this 'chanting' thing. Well shades of 'Hare Krishna', if you please. When she and some other teachers voiced objections to the school authorities, they were told that " it's nothing to get alarmed about, it's merely a meditative technique to help keep them calm, and also help them to find their inner-selves". Now if that doesn't smack of the biggest bit of mumbo- jumbo nonsense you ever heard, then I don't know what does. This is only some of what is now being taught to these kids.
I asked my friend how she and the other teachers managed to handle this and other kinds of 'tripe' that are expected to be taught now. She said, "overall we try to do the best we can, but when certain things such as what I just described are expected to be taught, and they bear no relation as to what should be taking place in the classroom, we just don't teach it". "If inquiries are made as to why not,.....some of us just say that we ran out of time/schedualing conflict, etc., etc.,"

Pam,..I must really commend you for being the concerned parent you are. I just wish that more parents all over this country would adopt the attitude that you have,....and then maybe a stop could be put to this crap. Oh yes,... .one thing more. She was also telling me that the word 'global' is now in wide use within the text books,....students must 'think globally',..'act globally', be 'global citizens', etc., etc.,.
Sounds to me like a good spanking is in order here for the jerks who have dreamed this junk up. God bless

I know that "Quest" is in our community schools now. They teach this to children who are not in extracurricular (sp?) activities in the middle school during lunch. Only a hand full of mothers even expressed interest in it so it was not enough to send a ripple to the school board. It is also offered about 10 miles North in a rural school starting at kindergarten. My best friend tried to fight it and they had a big group of parents that organized and tried to fight it. They couldn't put a dent in. They were just laughed at. Parents who could afford it or couldn't take it anymore just pulled their children out and home-school now. My girlfriend couldn't do that because she baby-sits all ages at home for a living. They were using journals to record all of their thoughts in first grade, tried to play games teaching the children to rely on each other, on acting like they're ameba (sp) cells and that they were all "one", and were teaching the children astro-projection and meditation!!!! The parents were portrayed in the paper like they were crazy or something.
Nothing has been done to this day.

Hi John,
I don't blame you for giving them hell!  I can assure you my husband and I would have been as outraged as you.  When my oldest daughter was in kindergarten at the very end of the school year we received a call from the school and was told the principal would like to talk with us.  He then informed us that he would like to hold her back not because of her grades but
because she was so small for her age and she was so shy.  He then went on to tell us that the school knows our children better than the parents do!  I can tell you my husband jumped out of his chair on that comment.  Needless to say, she was not held back!  It really does get frustrating at times but at least now I know why this is being done as at the time I did not understand.  Thanks for your comments.  God Bless, Pam

The apathy of the other parents does not surprise me. My son attended a summer school math program at our public school. The teacher declared every Fri. as "movie day". The rest of the week the kids did worksheets or played computer games. One of the movies he showed the kids concerned dead bodies coming to life and doing bad things to people. My son is not easily frightened, but since seeing this movie he refuses to sleep alone in his room. I talked to the teacher about it (he teaches 1st grade at one of the public schools). He claimed that he'd been showing the movie (and others like it) for years without complaints. He also told me I was over-protective and strongly implied that I had no right to complain, since my son attends a private school during the school year (never mind that I pay the same school taxes as the people whose children attend the public schools AND paid money for my son to attend this class!) When I talked to other parents about the movie, they were as appalled as I was that he would show it to 1st graders. They also said that he had a reputation for showing lots of movies. Many of these parents had first-hand experience with him, and said that they knew he showed too many movies and gave out too much candy, but they didn't think it would help to complain, so they accepted it. They just tried requesting that their other children entering the school did not get placed in his room, and avoided further contact with him that way. I felt like fighting the whole thing out with him, but decided that if the parents whose kids he taught didn't give a hoot, why should I waste my effort, when my children will never get him? I warn all parents I know with children that attend or will attend that school my story and encourage them to carefully monitor the movie situation, and to complain to him about it, but that's about all I can do.
The fear of teacher retaliation is a valid one. Any good teacher would never dream of retaliating, but you're not dealing with a good teacher. The thing to do is to complain a lot, going as high up the command ladder as necessary. If the teacher decides to try to retaliate, you simply have one more complaint to add to your list. If your complaints are taken seriously, chances are that she'll be watched too closely to be able to retaliate. If you have the support of enough parents, there will be too many kids for her to retaliate against to make it possible for her to do too much. Stick with the fight, though. Your daughter's education and self-image are much too important to just accept this teacher's methods. I firmly believe that first grade is the cornerstone for all future schooling. It not only sets the academic foundation for all future learning, but develops the child's attitude toward and enjoyment of school.
Good luck, and keep me posted on what happens!

Cathy,
Let me see if I understand this correctly.  Students who are able to grasp something quickly (and hopefully thoroughly) will then start tutoring the students who were not so fortunate.  Sounds to me like this could be extremely instrumental in setting up a caste system within our schools. The kids who get things right off will be walking on water and the ones who don't will never get to tutor and so they will be reinforced in their own beliefs that they are not as smart as the student tutors.
Accelerated learners will be kept learning the same tasks as they will not be encouraged to proceed forward....why should the system encourage them to proceed forward if they can use them as teaching assistants instead of using real teachers?
Children will be expected to learn and demonstrate "feelings"?  I already have a hard time with some of the moral ethics my child has been taught in school & I'm not a prude in any size, shape or form!  When I decided to have a child I also decided to stay at home to raise her. I wanted to be the one there to comfort her when she needed a mom, to teach her our values & to enjoy her first steps in whatever endeavor she chose.  Now the school system wishes to reteach those values which are acceptable to my family?
Individual education plans...is this another educational system joke?
Personally, I have had ENOUGH of these sophisticated educational plans...how about this country just try BACK TO BASICS?                        Sandy

Gloria--The issues you raised in your note are some of the questions/issues that have been discussed here in PA. I have heard of transformational and transitional OBE, and I agree that in the present system it cannot work to benefit all kids.

The college issue is also of concern. As you mentioned, if all kids (from IQ 90 to 150) attain an A or B, then how do colleges differentiate? As I have been told by school administrators and legislators, PA's OBE will teach down to the lower percentile student, thus leaving the high and average achievers without a challenge. I asked our school curr. director if a child could `test out' of the outcomes at age 16. The answer was yes. When I asked what was available for such a student, she couldn't answer.

Schools here are already bursting at the seams. Elementary classrooms approach 30 children, and teachers are having to do more work with less funds and supplies. As the system is outlined now, these teachers will be overloaded, and the kids will suffer. I am not a proponent of peer teaching. My 9 year old foster son (IQ of 80) was totally mainstreamed in a 2nd grade class and peer tutored for a year. Needless to say, neither child benefited from the experience. And the foster child never got the help he needed. I can't imagine teaching and remediating a lesson to a child of my foster son's level. ..for the whole class.

Yes, the system must be fixed. But why give the whole class an aspirin when only a few children have headaches?

Tell me more about MI's program? How has it fared so far?

This article was part of the material submitted at the public hearing in Trenton, NJ before the NJ State Assembly voted on (AND PASSED) the Resolution ACR 30 calling for a constitutional convention.
"Who Do The Children Belong To?  by Janet L. Marshall

America 2000 is THE new phrase in education.  It is "an education strategy" set forth by the U.S. Govt., and is available in a printed 62 page booklet called "America 2000".  Request it for free by calling 1-800-USA-LEARN.  It lists the six goals of education in the U.S. and then goes on to explain them. It is a real eye-opener, and reads very well, but if you really look at it, you will see it is a license to take away your children and any authority you have over your children.  This is not a futuristic pipe-dream; this is NOW and is happening all over America! As parents, we must stop it!!!!
A weekly newsletter from the U.S.D.E., also entitled "America 2000" highlights progress towards its goals The Feb. 10 issue features the Univ. of Wisconsin with its theme" Every Child, My Child".  The March issue of "Instructor" magazine clarifies, "all of the specialists are involved in a kind of co-ownership of each child."  I, for one, do not under any circumstances want anybody to think "my" children belong to them in any sense of the word. Do you?
How many of you parents ever see the tests your children take?  Or, better yet, how many of you ever ASK to see the tests?  I am talking not only of national standardized tests but regular tests., finals, etc. taken during the school year.  Have you ever taken a good look at some of the questions asked your child?  YOU SHOULD.  Our children are not being taught the academics you would expect.  There are some areas covered, but most of the questions asked on tests are geared to a psychological response. (I don't mean just opinions, either)   Our children are being taught attitudes, beliefs, morals, etc. that may be contrary to your family attitudes.
The results of these tests are being collected and stored using your child's S.S. #.  Now you know why all children entering school have to have their S.S.#. The information will be stored in the Elementary and Secondary Integrated Data System (a super computer that can store and access personal and academic test information). It will also be able to cross reference with other computer systems such as the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, marriage and divorce records, housing records, criminal records, credit, finance, employment and medical records.  Need I go on?  And you thought your children's academic records were local and private. So much for that.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress was introduced in 1989 in Nebraska.  According to the "Star Ledger" a week ago, Trenton is now trying to push through this kind of testing starting with fourth graders here in New Jersey."

Parents, stay in touch with your kids and their teachers. Make sure you know  what they are doing in your child's school.  This is where the NWO  establishment gains control of the minds of the next generation.  Don't make  it easy for them!!

John,
Did you happen to notice the controversy surrounding the NY school's policy of teaching children as young as first graders about homosexuality? District #24 refused and was suspended (whatever that means). I had planned to post this under my new subject TOHELLINA HAND BASKET, but P* deemed it unsuitable for family consumption.           Benjamin

Tracy,
In Birmingham, Michigan, they're fighting about whether or not detailed information about homosexual practices should be added to the sex education classes. What was once considered deviant behavior is now a lifestyle! Are we going to hell in a hand basket, or what?

Tracy,
Just think, if you lived in New York your kids could learn about homosexuality in the first grade.

To ALL - talk has been about education a little ways back and I'd like to share this with you --- call The Christian Patriot in Nashville at (615) 356-6032 to receive a 30 min video tape on "The Governor's School". The folks won't sell the tape (titled "The Guiding Hand") but ask that you might donate say $15 to cover copy/tape/mailing expenses. I sent a $25 donation ($10 above their 'suggested' donation) because I asked them to rush it. That is, send it today and have faith that I'll send what I promised (which I did {g}). They also rent it but I have no details on that. You can ask them. --- What's it about? About 12 years ago Clinton started something in Arkansas called "The Governor's School" where they took the top 2% of the high school kids (narrowed down to about 400) into a 6 week indoctrination (mental molestation) course to "enlighten" these "selected elite" kids. Nearly all the children, upon returning home, had a major shift in their personalities. They loved their parents before they left... their parents were the materialistic enemy when they returned 6 weeks later! One boy who loved his mother wrote as much in his journal at the outset. 3 weeks into it, he wrote how materialistic she was! When he left home, he had a girl "friend" who was his friend since 2nd grade. When he returned, she was no longer his friend. His values he grew up with were revamped in the name of education. Within a year after his experiencing "The Governor's School" this boy committed suicide. On the tape, his mother says she firmly believes, had he not gone to this 6 week special course, he wouldn't have even thought of suicide. You really need to see this tape folks. There is a lot on it about it being the President elect's favored modification to the educational system. When he speaks of educational reform, we should sit up and pay attention! He means to take this national. I should mention during this 6 week course, "students" were allowed to break only on the July 4th weekend but were encouraged not to. They were also encouraged not to call home or have any other outside contacts. They were told that while there, they didn't have to follow any rules. They didn't have to study. They should forget what ever their parents told them as they were their own masters now and could make their own rules. The dress code was "wear what ever you want or DON'T WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT". One young man on the tape said in some cases kids were practically nude. They were told to go running through the fields if they felt like it... While the "supervisors" told the kids they were FREE to do as they wished in this UTOPIA, they did have to attend some mandatory classes where films were shown. You see portions of these films on the tape. Some look quite X-RATED to me while some depict a man kicking the life out of a woman, another shows a man using DUCT TAPE across a woman's mouth. One shows riotous activity as the narrator explains that the kids are taught that riots and social upheaval may be O.K. At this part of the tape Hitler footage was shown and some relatively current film showing some men bashing in the doors of some establishment. I really do think anyone who cares about what our children are being taught IS RIGHT should check this stuff out!!! Mr. Clinton's wife "hillary" has said: I believe the STATE can raise this nations children better than the parents can! I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton puts that loose cannon in charge of the Dept. of Education. I wonder if there are any islands for sale on this planet???  Joe M.

Did anyone receive their booklet on America 2000 yet?  Let me know as soon as you get it.  A friend on a local school board is having a very hard time convincing other board members of the dangers of DUSO and other programs the new agers have planned for our children.  It's hard to believe they can't see it, especially since some of them profess to be Christians.  Just thought I would post a little on DUSO I learned of this from a home-school newsletter, and I  will quote a little from testimony by Barbara LeMasters.
"I had a wonderful little boy that I sent off to school. Three years later I was given a child that was diagnosed as clinically depressed and very angry. He suffered from a form of anorexia for 10 long and painful months.  He regressed emotionally to thumb sucking, bed-wetting constantly, horrendous nightmares he was afraid to talk about. He would not talk to me.  He became afraid and couldn't tell me why. He wanted to be held.  He begged me not to send him to school.  He wanted to call me from school because he was afraid, but he was afraid to use the pay phone because it was across from the office.
He couldn't tell me why.  He was violently angry beyond comprehension and out of control. After a two-week stay in Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D.C. with diagnostic testing for his ulcers that wouldn't respond to medication, testing for everything imaginable, including an endoscopy, I was told my child was perfectly healthy physically.  They made my son an appointment to see the child psychiatrist, but he couldn't tell me why my son was so upset.  We came home.
I had been to his teachers to talk to them about my son but they all assured me life was fine and they had no inkling of what I was talking about. Something was rotten in Denmark.
My son's homework came home on many religious symbols-yin and yang, Hindu gods, Indian totem poles.  He studied Chinese astrology.  I went to school to discuss other work for him when his reading material contained a story of a witch and her dematerializing friend and ghosts.  The teacher let it slip at the end of the conference that she had been doing relaxation techniques with the class every six weeks.  I asked to have my son excused from these exercises.  I didn't know much at this point in time, but I knew yoga when I saw it.
I started reading everything I could get my hands on from New Age to education.  Nigh unto 10,000 pages later I know why my son was so sick.  My education began with Phyllis Schlafly's "Child Abuse in the Classroom".  Among the programs discussed in the book was DUSO.  My son had had it for first and second grade.  It has been used in every first and second grade in the district for the last 8 years.  DUSO stands for Developing Understanding of Self and Others.  The district calls it social studies. I call it other things. On the surface it sounds nice, but there was something insidious about it. What I had been shown looked innocent enough,  but at no point was I ever shown the entire curriculum or told what it was actually about other than social studies and teaching kids to get along with one another. I went to the Learning Resource Center and checked out the DUSO curriculum.  I read it  and cried.  This wasn't social studies. It was group therapy and sensitivity training.  It was invasion of privacy and violation of first amendment rights. It was practicing psychology without a license.
"It was pure values clarification and critical thinking. It had raped my child.
DUSO was written by 2 psychologists, a father and son team.  Books on their recommended reading list written by the son, all on psychology. It is specifically the psychology of one man, Alfred Adler, whose main thrust in life was that parents didn't know how to raise children and that children needed therapy to be set free from the autocratic rule and values of their parents so that they could become more democratic and free to think for themselves.  The best place for this therapy was in the school. The teachers were to act as agents of change to systematically and manipulatively wean these emotionally unstable children away from their parents and for them to find out that there was no right and wrong except what they chose.  Decisions were made in the group.  Since no one's answers were right all answers were acceptable. How do they do this?  Through manipulation of fear tactics, down-playing the role of parents and by isolating them and only giving them importance as they conform to the group. (talk about peer pressure!)  It's called brainwashing and indoctrination.  Not only is this therapeutic technique used but guided imaging was used as well, a euphemism of hypnosis. These kids were put down on the floor with a New Age tape(yoga) filled with New Age sounds (ocean sounds with music).  After they totally relaxed they were told they were going under the sea to a secret place to meet their friends, DUSO the dolphin and Sophie the sea otter.  Where was the secret place?  Deep inside themselves. No one else could go there.  There were no rules there or authority. You could do whatever you wanted. My son was introduced to shamanism and given a spirit guide.  While in this state of semi-hypnosis all kinds of horrible subjects were brought up fear of many things, your parents leaving you, what makes you feel bad.  They are told to imagine themselves as animals or to imagine their feelings as animals.  What were these animals like and what did they do?  Not only were they put under in this state of hypnosis, they were never brought back out of it.  They were only continually taken down into it.  Anytime you alter your state of conscienceness in this manner, you open yourself up to many things spiritually, none of them good or from God.  This was done by the teacher not a professional psychologist, not that this would have made it better, but therapy in the hands of an untrained individual is a deadly weapon, opening a Pandora's box that has driven children to suicide and sent them to mental institutions for life.
I had to literally go into battle for my son to take him from the demonic oppression he was put under.  There is victory with The Lord!  I have seen him change in attitude and manner.  I have seen some of the wonderful little boy I used to have come back.  His bed-wetting has ceased for the first time in 3 years.  He's even talking more and more. His nightmares are gone. We aren't all the way back yet, but I have the faith and assurance that through Christ we will be victorious."

This lady is home schooling now, and she tells of other horror stories related to her by other mothers.  DUSO is used nationwide and is used in the NJ districts of Cherry Hill, Evesham, Mt. Laurel, and Medford that I know of. Not all districts used the guided imaging.    More later.  D.

Barb,
It probably means that home-school graduates and graduates of Christian schools who do not administer the tests will be discriminated against in entering college or the work force.  These American Achievement Tests will just further standardize/legimitize the psychological assessment being given to our children, all the while being called "academic".  The worst part of this is the collection and storage of this information in centralized computer data banks.  Children will be identified by their S.S.#.  This invasion of privacy having that detailed, cumulative psychological profiles on virtually every American, and the potential for abuse this represents is staggering.  We can well believe that this record will go right along with our children as they head off for "further learning and productive employment in our modern economy"

(Track III--Lifelong Learning).  Kathy Finnegan points out that--
"The government will have a virtually womb-to-tomb record of our achievements (and more importantly, our attitudes)."
I will probably start posting info and commentary on America 2000 on the Education BB.  Thanks to all for your help.
