Essays on anarchism, post-structuralism, queer theory and more

brought to you by anarchy-westoz

This is where all the essays live.

Because there isn't much here just yet the essays are listed alphabetically, hopefully the titles will give you some idea of the content. Eventually we'll give file sizes, but at the moment everything's pretty small.

As we've said elsewhere on these pages, please write to us about this stuff! We're not doing this entirely for our own amusement...we want to encourage and be involved in discussions with as many people as possible.

Anti-humanist anarchism: By Joff - this is part one of six, links to the rest can be found within the text. This essay looks at some of Bookchins ideas in terms of some currents of thought within postmodernism.

Biphobia in the Queer Community: By Holly Hammond - a discussion of queer theory, sexual identity, and attitudes to bisexuals in 'queer community'.

Points of contact, points of light/dark: A brief tour of some poststructuralist thought, and some reasons why anarchists might want to look at this stuff. I should point out here that I'm not entirely happy with this essay, but it's being worked on, so bear with me 8-).

Suggestions for the Positive Sabotage of the Spectacular Commodity Society:The Self-Management Group of Western Australia.
This text dates, as far as we can tell, from 1976. Unfortunately we don't seem to have the phone number for the guy that was the anarchist movement in Perth during this period...if anyone knows anyone who knows something about its origins and the current whereabouts of its author(s) please mail us.

Coming soon: "Foucault's 'Genealogy'- a method for anarchists", by Ryan Scott. An exploration of the openings on to anarchist thought provided by the French (aren't they all) thinker Michel Foucault.
