These page's exist to encourage the discussion of anarchism and related topics. In particular the relationship (if any) between post-structuralist thought and anarchism. Over the next few months several works will be placed on this page dealing with these topics.
In terms of shared beliefs, I would say that all the people currently associated with these pages are 'primarily' anarchists, who have an interest in postmodernism and post-structuralism. To many anarchists, no doubt, the terms postmodern and post-structuralist, may only signify how removed from the 'real' world academics are, or worse: how nothing matters any more...if everything is relative, then what about the important, and I would argue foundational, ethical character of anarchist thought. These pages are then an attempt to set up a dialogue between anarchist and post-structuralist thought. Whilst we already have our opinion on the relationship - we feel that is an important one: one that offers new strands of theory to a rope that has become very frayed...we realise that the onus is upon us to justify this view. We realise also that in the case of some anarchist theorists this may not be possible: Noam Chomsky for example has made some quite scathing remarks about many of the ideas we wish to raise.
Well I hope this has provided sufficient reason for the existence of these pages.
For those who are utterly unfamiliar with any post-structuralist thought but would like to find
out more you can make a good start following the links below (please mail me if any of them don't
work). If these links aren't to your taste then there will soon be a broader
selection in addition to a number of our own texts, so come again soon! If you are impatient
(and that's ok) then mail me at the address below telling me what your interested in
and I'll get back to you with the appropriate materials or whatever.Thankyou and good evening!
