Determining at which point free speach causes more harm than good is difficult, even for experienced adults. Some consideration is necessary. Free speach needs a PLACE to be where it can be found by wishing to find it. I welcome your site. A place where even a child can visit and know that what they are reading are those words that some others wish to protect them from. Example: If a book is CLEARLY fiction, then I don't care what the words in it say. But if it is UNCLEAR that it is fiction then some may believe that the words are true. At that line I want censorship. The goal is to elevate children into being better than a Bosnian or Somalian and if we accidently misguide them, then the price of free speech is our destiny. There is only one thing I want more than freedom of speech...freedom from confusion and mis-guidance. |
